Yep GW strikes here too. This is the warmest summer I can recall.

Where were you during the summer of 1967 or 1974?

Maybe its chickens.

Good point!

If I go outside in -37C will my temperature still be 37C?

Not if you are out there for more than a couple of hours! :)

Are you disappointed the Canadian record of 45°C from 1937 still stands firm?

It looks like the summit of the graph was reached around 1937 - 1941. Been feeling a bit of a chill since! :)

Where were you during the summer of 1974?

The summer of 1974 I was in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean surrounded by icebergs. Had snow flurries on July 1st Dominion Day while on the coast of Labrador.

Why? Was it hot where YOU were?

What is the kindling temperature of wood? 150 - 190C? So Globull warming does not start forest fires! Lightening and human activity does! Hope that shuts some of the dummies up. :) :)

Yep, in B.C. we had hot weather right from July until mid October!

Silly. Heat and lack of moisture dries out the forest and sets the it up to burn at the slightest provocation.

So what you are saying is human involvement is necessary ? Lightening is a different story.
No. That is not what I said. Lightning is the major reason for fires but the climate is being mitigated by human activity as well as other factors.

72 Deg F !!! Wow, that's almost freezing for august.

Damned "human activity"....of course weather has NOTHING to do with the sun.

haha..hahhahhhhaahhh...ahhahhhhaahhahahhhh!

Just like trumphating communism and nazism didn't kill hundreds of millions of gun free people.

Ummmm...cliffie, it's the dead fall and buildup of detritus that preps forests to burn, which has been happening for BILLIONS of years.
;)
Which is why you get forest fires in rain forests too.

You should have read Fahrenheit 451 instead of smoking dope and skipping school and cheating on your tests and exams.

Oh my but the logic of your ? thinking escapes me. Has it occurred to you that many days with high temps drys out the ground? It make the plants shrivel up and become tinder dry. Then along comes a sudden thunder storm or more likely heat lightening and starts all kinds of fires. Isn;t that what happened in BC not so long ago? It seems to me I remember something in the meighbour of 170 out of ccontrol new fires started up that night! Add these to the 138 out of control fires already burning and even Alberta and Manitoba will smell the smoke.

It seems to me that it is time to acknowledge that something is badly wrong. The pay scale alone for over 1000 firefighters for weeks and weeks along with the property damage and loss of life has already cost more than the taxes to would have been to find and fix the problem earlier.

You know...........like 10 to 30 years ago!!

My answer is even more irrelevant.

1967 - designing circuits for ASW devices.

1974 - recovering from a dirty divorce & almost starving.

That question seems quite irrelevant, but I will answer it.

1967 - Attending U of A
1974 - teaching in Australia
Simple 1967 on the golf course , or on a hippie .
1974 on the water or on a hippie .
Times were tough ,you only got 4 , 20 cent beer for a buck .
