Why boycotting Canadian wheat is likely to backfire for Saudi Arabia

Big deal. Now if they threatened to cut off oil sales to the east coast it might get some attention. Or not.

Saudi Arabia calls Canada one of the world's worst oppressors of women

This is just not going away. Damn.

Cause we force them to drive cars and have jobs and vote. I can see where guys with little dicks would be terrified by that

More revenue, more revenue, more revenue so that the ceos get a better payoff, rich beyond measure, while they use that to try and reduce union participation and not reduce climate change.

We can not reduce climate change. Maybe cutting the world population in half would would make a minuscule change. You willing to do your part and depart?

Bummer for the Saudis. $7.50+CAD per bushel has me giggling with excitement.

Too bad for Saudi that the parts of Canada that have all the wheat also have all the oil so no trades possible.

You guys aren't getting it about the oil reaching the East Coast. It's bought on the spot market. It can come from anywhere. Even the UK is an oil supplier to Canada because we buy it from any old place. We get a lot of oil from Saudi Arabia because they are shipping a lot of it out but Canada is not specifically buying oil from the Saudis. If they "cut us off" the oil still arrives on time from some other evil bastward supplier like Iran ... more likely from Venezuela but the stuff is bid on on a daily basis. The Saudi is just happen to have a lot of cheap available oil on the market, right now so chances are, a lot of our East Coast oil comes from there. They do not have us "over a barrel" in any way. If anything, the oil customer has the leverage, right now and the Saudis can kiss our asses so that we will deign to buy their oil.

This must really be weighing down on you Snowflake.

Trudeau shouldn't have been so arrogant and Canada would not be in such a mess over this.

You think a tanker can be filled on demand?

You think that we have a written agreement with the Saudis to specifically buy their oil all year long? The Said is fill tankers whether we buy it or any one of two or three dozen other customers buy it.

Crude Oil Futures Trading Basics.

Crude Oil futures are standardized, exchange-traded contracts in which the contract buyer agrees to take delivery, from the seller, a specific quantity of crude oil (eg. 1000 barrels) at a predetermined price on a future delivery date.

Makes stumps look like geniuses.

Right, Clem. You figure that Canada puts in an order for oil and the Saudis fill up a tanker and slap a label on it that says "Ship To Canada"? The Saudis fill up tankers based on world wide demand for the stuff and we essentially buy tankers full.
