That needs to be proved beyond a reasonable doubt. Where's the proof?

Have you ever lived in China?

I would approach the Chinese regime with caution myself. All I'm saying is we need to make a distinction between state and non-state actors otherwise we only make matters worse. If Chinese perceive Canadian actions as targeting the Chinese people rather than the regime, then we force even those who might oppose the regime to side with it in self interest.

The same principle applies to how we treat Iranians, North Koreans, etc. too by the way. That's why Trump is way out to lunch in his attempt to demonize ordinary Middle-Easterners for example even though I don't trust the Iranian regime either.

Pity the poor LIE-berals who have NO logical defense of their policies! It is why there are so many LIE-berals in class rooms- they know that kids do not yet have the life experience needed to be able to LAUGH LIE-beral policy out of the room! LIE-beals only get support from the ill educated and from those they BUY- like civil service union Hogs!

Here is an article illustrating the HUGE economic mess that LIE-berals have made of international trade. The article illustrates that trade and job issues can not be sorted out by giving control over to a committee made up of LIE-beral loons such as Our idiot Boy Justin and a cabal of third world despots from places like China, Russia and Iran! With some comments of my own in brackets):

David T. Jones, Special to Postmedia Network. For centuries there was no question of trade being for “mutual benefit”.

Rather, states sought colonies, essentially for exploitation, to extract useful material from at low prices, while dumping excess industrial products manufactured in the “mother country” at high cost.

Ostensibly, economic theory eventually moved on to “mutual benefit” with the emphasis on “comparative advantage”, wherein each country provides the products it produces most efficiently and a trade balance results.

This theory falters when countries with effectively nothing worthy of trade end up borrowing from those countries who still push products upon them. The resulting debt loads have economy-distorting consequences for both borrowers and lenders.

(Much of our current trade problem is related to credit. In a gold based economy- meaning your wealth is measured in gold coins and your spending is limited by how many coins you have; and prices are regulated as well since the seller may choose to accept fewer coins- on the grounds that a cheap sale is better than no sale- if you are poor. But all these mechanisms that used to regulate sales and trade are GONE! Swept away in a tide of paper money and easy credit.)

(After WW2, western govts chose to end the “gold standard”- the traditional measurement of wealth- in large part because of all the looting and destruction that occurred during the war- staggering sums of gold and art and all manner of stuff was stolen or lost. Going off that gold standard allowed govt to get things running again while police sifted through various claims for compensation and ownership that are still going on 70 years later- with various art galleries arguing over who owns what. Problem is the gold standard is gone and it has not been replaced- there is no longer any real control over trade and deficits. This permits bankrupt Greeks to hide the scale of their bankruptcy. And it allows Chinese and other third world countries to manipulate currency on a grand scale.)

One classic approach for a country developing its industry and economy is to put high tariffs on imported goods. Theoretically, once these industries are strong enough to “stand on their own”, the tariffs can be reduced or eliminated.

Of course, that approach reduces profits of the now powerful manufacturers, who see no interest in enhancing competition. For a generation following World War II, the U.S. had no realtrade competition. It was the global powerhouse for manufacturing efficiency and technological innovation.

U.S. products, particularly automobiles, supported a vast U.S. middle class in which an auto worker could count on a well-paid, lifetime job. The U.S. ran trade surpluses and was the great global lender. Goods imported from other countries were regarded as cheap and shoddy.

But then the U.S. lost its “mojo.” Competitors, most notably Japan, were able to take advantage of new factories, using new technology and cheap labor. They challenged simultaneous U.S. technological failures, high prices, and social arrogance. U.S. cars were suddenly inferior.

The media were besieged with articles and studies suggesting Japan was about to lead the world in everything. Japan obliged this fear by purchasing a wide array of highly visible U.S. properties.

(The reality is that Japan was accumulating a mass of Yankee dollars and needed to do something with this cash- and what better idea than to re-invest that cash in United States? Japan took paper money that can and does fluctuate in value- and one has only to look at the vast crap game/floating casino that is the stock market to understand how volatile mere paper is- and turned their dollars into hard assets- such as real estate- which happens to be a product in ever shorter supply and ever increasing value!)

U.S. government trade efforts focused on thwarting Japan, and in an ancillary manner Mexico, whose low labor prices were (supposedly) producing a “vast sucking sound,” in Ross Perot’s words, pulling U.S. jobs south of the Rio Grande.

(Yes- that “vast sucking sound” was heard here in Canada as well- with the LIE-beral Chretien govt presiding over a debauched Cdn economy where our dollar hit $63 cents U.S. A combination of low Mexican wages and insane LIE-beral vote buying nearly bankrupted Canada! Only major tax increases by LIE-berals and serious cuts to federal fund transfers to the provinces reversed the flow of red ink! And later, the Conservative govt of Harper held the line on federal wage increases for civil service Hogs! Frugality is a good thing- too bad LIE-berals despise it and must literally have guns put to their heads to make them save a penny! Chretien LIE-berals ran on a promise to kill NAFTA and then chickened out after winning the election- the economic reality of dead NAFTA costs would be too high!)

But while America was focused on Japan and Mexico, China, quietly and efficiently “ate our lunch”.

China now has a massive trade surplus driven by manufacturing efficiency and currency manipulation.

(Yes- that paper money is wonderful stuff- you can make it worth whatever you want- especially in a CLOSED economic system like China where foreigners do NOT get to see the books! Its even easier to manipulate when local Chinese govt gets to decide what products MAY be offered for sale to the local people! This is in sharp contrast to the Cdn experience where our dollar went from that nasty $63 cents over to $1.05 U.S. and took a PILE of jobs away as Cdn goods began to cost to much!)

His country arguably now the factory for the world, Chinese leader Xi Jinping recently announced a “Made in China 2025” policy described as “involving local content requirements and the elimination of foreign suppliers.”

(So xenophobic Chinese are now implementing a “made in China” program that makes the Trump model look open and inclusive! And Our idiot Boy Justin thinks he can destroy NAFTA with his feminist/native rights blather and then make up the economic difference with Chinese business? HAHAHAHAHA!!!)

For the U.S., the past 20 years have seen the loss of two million manufacturing jobs.

(Automation is the real killer of most of these jobs. Robots are increasingly commonplace even in third world pest holes- its all about speed and efficiency and robots don’t get tired or sick or forget details. Reality is there are very few jobs to recover-especially in the automotive business which Trump is mainly focussed on. In addition -thanks to huge competition our vehicles are more reliable and longer lasting than ever before- meaning we buy new ones less often!)

Plus, growing frustration expressed by displaced workers that trade agreements reducing costs for manufacturing imports have cost them their jobs, for which “retraining”, or McJobs, are poor substitutes.

(LIE-berals keep assuring us our economy is “booming” but desperate LIE-berals do NOT want to tell us that the only good full time jobs out there are for govt employees- with the rest of us stuck in those McJobs and struggling financially! Cdn biz is cutting costs by killing good full time work and replacing it with part time and short term crap work. This trend will only increase as LIE-berals bomb business with their electricity price gouging and minimum wage garbage! The ugly truth is we Cdns cannot produce enough gravy to satisfy the civil service Hogs that LIE-berals rely on to keep them in power! It is LIE-beral gravy traded for Hog votes- and SCREW the general public!)

Hence, U.S. President Donald Trump’s urge to eliminate or reject trade agreements such as the Trans Pacific Partnership and call into question agreements such as NAFTA with Canada and Mexico

Trump’s claim, which resonates massively with voters, if not economists, is that the U.S. has been outsmarted and out-negotiated in these agreements.

(Western govts decided after WW2- that breaking down trade barriers would promote peace as countries that do lots of business are presumed to be unlikely to fight each other. This concept works with Europeans but it clearly does not work with third world nations in Middle East and in Asia! It is China that is happily stirring the pot in blood soaked Darfur/South Sudan as they pursue oil and natural gas contracts. It is Russians and Chinese who happily sell weapons to Iran, North Korea and Syria and it is bankrupt western govts that get to deal with the swarming millions of refugees- many of whom represent national security risks!)

China is a tougher problem, especially since Washington is desperately attempting to induce Beijing to castrate North Korea’s nuclear program.

Perhaps, while it is currently a rudimentary idea, a coordinated U.S./European Union, World Trade Organization action might secure better Chinese adherence to WTO rules.

(IN other words- when Trump called out NATO “slackers” especially including Canada- he was on the right track! A united front can achieve better results than a few isolated individuals! And a firm commitment to greater economic cooperation between like minded western countries can balance out influence from dictators and bullies! Too bad Our idiot boy Justin is so bigoted against Yankees he would rather see NAFTA die than agree with Yankees on ANYTHING! Our idiot Boy is deliberately hurting NAFTA by ignoring very real Yankee fears that Cdn national security is so sloppy that Yankees risk importing Muslim terrorists along with their Cdn dairy and softwood lumber!)

(LIE-beral policy is running in circles as usual- they shun trade with the Yankee democracy and seek out trade with Chinese dictators! But what can we expect form Our idiot Boy- who has his fathers vile values! After all it was Pierre Trudope who heaped fawning praise on Chinese Chairman Mao “for his genius in rushing 30 million Chinese to the gallows” just so he could cement his power over China!)

"citing concerns about human rights, labour standards and the fact the Chinese economy is dominated by state-owned companies."

where were these concerns when Harper was over there negotiating the same deal with the same people?

It was Harper who denied China the chance to buy into the Alberta oil patch as the deal was structured in a way that would have hampered Cdn sovereignty!

It was LIE-berals who so often told us E MUST ENGAGE WITH CHINA as it will help moderate their behaviour!

Conservatives have dealt with China in a modest way that suits Canada!

It was LIE-beral Chretien who took Team Canada to Beijing to do those wonderful deals!

And it was that closet Soviet agent Pierre Trudeau that did the BIG TELEPHONE DEAL with China so long ago- the one that hooked up all the Chinese secret police stations with modern communications!

And it was again Soviet Pierre who did the telephone deal with Haitian dictator Papa Doc Duvallier to install modern phones at all the Haitian secret police stations!

And it was Soviet Pierre who did that road deal with Papa Doc to ensure that troops and secret police could move swiftly from their bases to trouble spots! Tv show W-5 did a nice episode about the brand new road being built with Cdn aid money - to the hill top mansion of the Haitian chief of the secret police- courtesy of our Soviet leader Pierre Trudeau!

There's a whooooole lotta clueless stupidity in the above comment.

Our silver spoon socialist idiot Boy Justin has some highly suspect pals!

First there Taliban nutbar and former Mennonite Boyle- the guy was once married to Zaynab Khadr- the Isis worshipping sister of bomb maker Omar Khadr and later Boyle got married again and took his pregnant wife to the Afghan war zone- for reasons never explained and ended up in a Taliban prison. Upon his release, he had a cozy little meeting with his OLD FRIEND Justin Trudope! And then there is the Sikh Atwal- convicted of attempting to kill a Hindu politician in India- with Atwal apparently being allowed into India after LIE-berals petitioned Indian officials- and now Our idiot Boy Justin is puzzled why Indian leaders do not want to talk to him due to the offense he has given! And most damaging of all is the “life long” friendship between the Trudope clan and bloody handed Cuban dictator Castro!

Here is an article illustrating what life was like under Soviet style Cuban dictator Castro- the bosom buddy of all the Trudope clan-the bloody handed butcher who Our idiot Boy Justin likes to call a close family friend- this would be the same Castro that Sacha Trudope- brother of Our idiot Boy has referred to as the “greatest South American leader of the 20th century and much superior to any merely elected leader”! Trudope family admiration for ALL manner of of bloody handed dictators is hard to stomach! It was Pierre Trudope- father of both morons- whjo took Justin and Sacha to Cuba when they were kids and introduced them to Castro. Our Pet Pierre wrote in his book - Two Innocents in Red China - “of the genius of Chairman Mao in rushing 30 million Chinese to the gallows” merely to cement his bloody hold on power! With friends like these the Trudope clan are no friends of freedom or democracy! Here is the article- with some comments of my own in brackets):

CHRONICLE OF AN UNFORGETTABLE AGONY: CUBA'S POLITICAL PRISONS

CONTACTO MAGAZINE. Sep't 96.
By Jesus Hernandez Cuellas

Julio Antonio Yebra M.D. shook the hand of each member of his firing squad and told them that he forgave them. The order to shoot mixed with his own scream condemning communism, and his lifeless body hung from the pole to which it had been tied. Seconds later we heard the final shot to the head. In one of the prison wings at the Presidio Modelo in Isla de Pinos, Cuco Muniz and Armando Valladares were having a conversation in front of cell 35 when a human shadow fell from above and crashed on the cement, down below. It was Jesus Lopez Cuevas. He had thrown himself, in a suicidal jump, from the fourth floor. He was dead.

Pedro Luis Boitel, former candidate to the presidency of the University's Student Federation, believed that human beings should demand respect for themselves through any means. He undertook a tenacious hunger strike which led to international repercussions and complicitous silence. He died dehydrated on May 24, 1972, after 53 days without nourishment in a Cuban prison. Before then he had taken part in many hunger strikes.

(Too many people follow the Trudeau style beliefs- that the Soviet system is much maligned and slandered and refuse to believe how much blood is spilled by Soviets- or even worse- they believe the deaths are necessary to “protect” the revolution!)

Fortunately, Mario Chanes de Armas survived that hell, but at the price of spending 30 years in Castro's prisons, which turned him into the longest held political prisoner in the world. Chanes de Armas suffered such fate in spite of having participated alongside Fidel Castro in the assault on the Moncada Barracks in Santiago de Cuba, on July 26, 1953; after having taken part in the Granma trip from Veracruz, Mexico, landing on the eastern coast of Cuba, in 1956, which would mark the beginning of the armed struggle against the Batista regime and which found him, on the eve of the Revolution's triumph, in one of Fulgencio Batista's cells.

(Soviet style dictators have a LONG history of turning on each other! Leon Trotsky was number 2 man under Lenin in the early days of the Russian Soviet Revolution and yet Lenin turned on him and Trotsky fled away to Mexico. The Soviet number 3 man- Lavrenty Beria- leader of the Soviet Secret Police- dispatched 3 agents- travelling on CANADIAN passports- to Mexico where Trotsky was murdered with an axe blow to the head- and Beria moved up from 3rd to 2nd spot in Soviet Russia! Murder is a typical Soviet route to promotion!)

(And the Chinese Communist party- which Our idiot Boy Justin has told us “he admires for the way they get things done” - has a similar method of getting “promoted”- Chinese Communists are just as happy as Russians to kill off opposition! One has only to aks what happened to former Chinese strong man Chou En Lai- former spokesman for Chinese Foreign Affairs under Mao- during and after the president Nixon years- once Mao died- so did Chou En Lai! But unlike Mao, Chou did NOT die of old age!)

(In fact- various reports suggest that the first year that Castro spent in control became known to Cubans as “The Year of the Firing Squads”! In other words this is business as usual for Communists! That other vicious killer Cambodian Pol Pot was notable simply for being more efficient in killing “anti Soviets” than was considered the standard even for Soviet butchers!)

"I've never felt hatred or wished for vengeance against anyone, I will never be able to be a judge or a prosecutor", Chanes de Armas stated to CONTACTO, who stayed in prison from July 1961 until July 1991, accused of planning attacks against the leadership of Castro's regime. The former prisoner states that he was never involved with any group planning the murder of any leader. In his book Cuba: Myth and Reality, sociologist Juan Clark states that the highest record of political prisoners in Cuba (at a given time) throughout its history amounted to 60 thousand during the 1960's. Amnesty International points out that in the mid-1970's, some 20 thousand prisoners had been freed. Clark concludes that "in a comparative base, these two amounts would be the equivalent, in a country the size of the United States, in the amount of 1,410,000 and 466,000 during that era".

Juan Clark adds that "this would make Cuba the country with the highest percentage (per capita) of political prisoners in the Western Hemisphere, even higher than the percentage for the Soviet Union", a nation which kept the highest number of dissidents jailed before the process of perestroika and glasnost, started by Michail Gorbachev during the second half of the 1980's.

(One may understand the Cuban Communist would “need” to be more vigorous than Russians in purging anti Soviet elements since Cubans- living next door to United States- Cubans had a much better look at western life than Russians and might be more restless than less well informed Russians under Soviet rule- hence the greater “need” for Cuban “re-education” centres- of the sort beloved of ALL Soviet comrades where dissidents of all sorts could have commie style “sense” beaten into them!)

Historically, the era with the highest number of political prisoners held in Cuba prior to Fidel Castro in power, had been under the dictatorship of General Gerardo Machado, between 1929 and 1933, when some 5 thousand opponents were jailed. During the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista, between 1952 and 1958, some 500 political prisoners were held. The testimonies of some of the protagonists can clearly make the comparison between the treatment received by the prisoners during the different periods. Here's one such important testimony:

"I'm going to dine: spaghetti with calamari, italian chocolates for dessert, freshly brewed Cuban coffee and later an H-Upman #4 (cigar). Don't you envy me?.... When I get some sun in the mornings, wearing shorts and feeling the sea breeze, I think that I'm at the beach. They are going to make me think I'm on vacation! What would Karl Marx say of such revolutionaries?"

The above quotation comes from a letter written by Fidel Castro when he was being held at the Presidio Modelo in Isla de Pinos, serving a 15 year sentence for leading the attack on the Moncada Barracks, in which some 100 people died. Castro and his companions served 20 months in jail, after which they received an amnesty from Batista's regime.

(Isn’t that nice- the dictator Batista that Castro later destroyed seems not to have shared the Castro fondness for bloody handed vengeance? And is it not amusing that western “useful idiots” as Lenin called craven western apologists of Soviet atrocities- always blamed United States for Cuban poverty in spite of the fact Cuba COULD have traded with all of South America- IF the Cuban Soviet economy actually produced anything useful to sell!)

China is sounding a bit desperate. I don't know how far i can trust Scheer but Free Trade has NEVER worked. It is always to the benefit of the Senior member of a bilateral or a multilateral agreement. And always to the benefit a narrow elite of traders and financiers within that partnership. It has caused deindustrialization, polarization of wealth, decay of the worplace, exploitation and enslavement of labour, impoverishment and economic disintegration everywhere it has been imposed.

Free Trade Agreements are collapsing around the Globe and especially in the developed world. The EU has seen populism and nationalism methodically take over the centre of the centre of the political dialogue. It is irreversable at this point. The only question is will the process of transition be orderly or violent.

We will need a permanent system of tariffs, government agency (investment in infrastructure, public ownership of key natural monopolies [infratructures of energy, transportation, communication, water]) and an industrial strategy.

These so called corrections to 'badly negotiated' deals as a path to Free Trade is a complete chimera. A nation exists to protect and promote a sovereign, integrated, inclusive, prosperous and equitable industrial and agricultural economy.. that will never change.

The fact that China is taking on Scheer so directly is their intelligence indicates that Justin is unlikely to win the next election. They are trying to insinuate themselves into the Canadian electoral prosess.

I think we should be welcoming China with open arms in order to have us less dependent upon America. Is that not why we are building pipelines to the West Coast? China would be no different then America who have CIA agents sprawled across our country. At the moment, Canada shares all our personal information with America which includes health info. American law officials have the right to arrest Canadians inside Canada. The Integrated Cross Border Law Enforcement Operations Act now makes it possible for American officers to cross the border into Canada where, as the act states, they have "the same power to enforce an act of Parliament as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police." This means they'll be armed and have the powers to arrest suspects in Canadian territory.
It was China who saved the world economy in 2008 and not America. China bailed the world out by investing trillions into infrastructure. (highways, trains and housing.) They even built cites and of which some remained empty while importing all the raw materials from across the world.

My take of it:

We should unilaterally open our borders to China, but only to those Canadian businesses that the Chinese regime could not corrupt easily. For example, Canada could allow any Canadian sole trader or worker cooperative that does not produce, buy, or sell weapons (other than sports equipment) to import from China tariff-free.

That said, the government could refuse to buy any product that is made in Chinese for any security concern, meaning that Chinese telecoms would be limited to the private sector. And even then, since they'd have to either convert themselves into a sole trader or worker cooperative or do business with a Canadian sole trader or worker cooperative, it would be extremely difficult for these businesses to engage in espionage or other partisan operations in Canada.

So, basically your position is "We should open our borders, but we should not open our borders."

Limit it to sole proprietorships and worker cooperatives other than natural monopolies.

That way, the people can enjoy free trade while still keeping the CPC at arm's length. I'm very pro-free-trade in principle, but there is more than just economics at stake here. I don't trust the CPC.

Thank you for that encouraging news- that Our idiot Boy Justin will get yanked off the Cdn political stage in 2019! WE CAN LIVE IN HOPE!!!!!

Of course the long term trade issue is paper money! It is worth whatever you think it is in the moment!

AS the Greeks proved -you can hide all sorts of faults behind paper money- for a LONG TIME- but you get caught out eventually thanks to the stupidity of LIE-berals!

Greece should NOT have been allowed into the E.U. They had applied once and got refused due to the size of their debts and fiscal instability etc.......so they did a nice once over clean up and swept a lot of crap out of sight- in exactly the same way that Ontari-owe LIE-berals made a 2017 budget deficit into a surplus and exactly the same way Wynne-bag made a 2018 $12 billion dollar deficit shrink down to $6 billion!

And the various soft hearted and soft headed E.U. leaders accepted the Greek cooked books and let them in and now are regretting it!

And no doubt the Greek books were not looked at too hard by Irish, Portuguese and Spanish leaders- for fear FULL DISCLOSURE

might prompt a hard look at their books!

In the not so good old days we had the gold standard which measured money according the quantity of precious metals- gold, silver and copper- but in the aftermath of WW2 the choice was made to go off the gold standard in order to restore Europe swiftly.

Problem is nobody ever expected us to just work with paper money- the WW2 leaders assumed some honest accounting method would be brought in and of course it was not!

We are working with a chaotic system that does not have ANY sensible mechanisms for regulating trade and currency values and gravy grabbing LIE-berals have taken full advantage of the loopholes!

AS Brit PM Margaret Thatcher pointed out: "the trouble with LIE-berals is that eventually they run out of other peoples money"!

And here we are! LIE-berals cannot print money fast enough to keep up with their debts!

Cdn civil service union Hogs supported LIE-berals for years and got great gobs of gravy in exchange for their votes- but Hog greed springs eternal- there is not enough money in the world to satisfy them!

So Hogs are holding somewhere between $300 billion and $900 billion dollars in LIE-beral IOU`s that simply cannot be honoured without breaking our economy!

AS I have pointed out before- the outgoing chairman of the OSSTF/ Ontari-owe high school teachers- told us on TVO/The Agenda that OSSTF holds LIE-beral IOU`s that- with interest compounded and amortized- will be worth $55 billion dollars by summer 2018- with another 18 provincial unions holding another huge array of costly LIE-beral IOU`s!

This is why Horvath and her NDP loons are the official Ontari-owe opposition today- the Hogs have despaired of getting gravy from LIE-berals and switched their support to NDP loons!!

LIE-berals will suggest that NONE of this is relevant since Ford is now premier of Ontari-owe and as usual LIE-berals LIE!

The same vast set of IOU`s have been issued to municipal Hogs- with those municipal workers seeking to influence who gets elected to city council!

And of course federal Hogs have their own set of IOU`s and will be fighting hard to make sure that Our idiot Boy and his moronic LIE-beral minions remain in control in Ottawa!

LIE-beral policy is full of preferential treatment and bigotry masquerading as "fairness"!

Greedy Hogs even set up a web site called "Fairness Counts.ca" and it DOES COUNT- just so long as all the "fairness" COMES TO THEM!

Hogs sincerely believe that Canada exists for THEIR PLEASURE!
