OTTAWA — The war on drugs may move to a new battlefield in Canada, if Liberal MPs get their way: the 2019 federal election campaign.
They’re pushing the Trudeau government to go much further than legalizing recreational marijuana. In a priority resolution they hope will be adopted at the Liberals’ policy convention in April for inclusion in the next election platform, the national caucus is calling on the government to eliminate criminal penalties for simple possession and consumption of all illicit drugs.
Newly-minted NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh has taken a similar stance.

But the Conservatives, who have opposed many elements of the plan to legalize pot by July, are signalling that they would object to decriminalizing the use of other, harder drugs even more strenuously.
(A great many Cdns are already unhappy with LIE-beral changes to drug laws. They worry about happy stoners operating heavy equipment and casually slapping sensitive equipment together on the job. In cases where a fatal car crash was caused by drunk driving- over 40 percent of drivers were also stoned. A Japanese prime minister visiting United States nearly caused a riot when he suggested that Yankee workers were drugged up and sloppy workers after he was asked to explain the success of Japanese products such as cars- yet when General Motors tried to set up a “snitch line” so that senior staff could get help for Oshawa plant workers who got drunk or drugged up during lunch breaks, the union went berserk at the perceived insult. GM felt that lunch hour boozing was a company wide problem- even at the Oshawa plant- the one with the consistently highest quality of any plant in North America!)

(Cdns do not think that laws that make it easier for kids to get access to drugs is a good idea- with parents more worried about kids with Weed than with alcohol- since it is easier for kids to get at Weed than alcohol already! Cdns are also worried about the social costs of easier access to hard drugs- many of us recall Lisa Podniewitz- the 9 year old girl who was beaten to death by her drug addicted parents. WE also recall that the day before she died of pneumonia caused by breathing troubles from her broken ribs- SHE WAS VISITED by a City of Toronto social worker who kindly tied a bracelet to the ankle of the dying child without noticing the poor kid ALSO had a broken leg!)
(And how could a social worker MISS such a list of injuries on a dying kid? The social worker was a refugee from Chile- and was hired ONLY for her Spanish language skill and ability to explain city services to immigrants from South American countries- the usual LIE-beral immigrant vote buying exercise. The woman had NO training as a social worker and basically got paid well to watch the kid DIE- since there were very few Spanish speaking refugees in the city needing her services and govt had to keep her busy somehow- doing work she was NOT trained for!)

(It is hard to argue that an adult sitting at home on a Saturday evening- with work done and down time at hand- is ruining society by having a little smoke up while watching a funny movie or listening to music etc. The problem comes when a mass of workers are out in the parking lot 20 minutes before start of shift- furiously smoking up because they cannot get through their work day without it- it speaks of a crap attitude that shows up in quality of work! In addition, LIE-berals already have enough trouble with hard core drug addicts who cannot hold a job, need an array of govt services, regularly use food banks, require “affordable housing” for their kids such as Lisa Podniewitz- born of a mother working as a hooker to get drug money- which maybe explains why her `father`- so called- did not worry much about her- she was nothing but a welfare funded meal ticket and occasional punching bag- sired by a stranger! LIE-berals have proven they cannot handle the current welfare system and related drug issues in a sensible way so WHY would we let them EXPAND their madness?)

Many Conservatives feared legalization of pot would be just the first step towards legalizing other, harder drugs. But Nicholson said he’s frankly surprised that Liberal MPs aren’t even waiting to see how legalizing cannabis works out before starting down that slippery slope.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has repeatedly ruled out legalization of drugs other than cannabis. He has not so far commented on the resolution advanced by his own caucus, which does not actually go so far as to advocate legalization of other drugs.
(Several Toronto Socialist Silly Hall councillors have already mused that it might be a good idea to legalize heroin- so apparently the madness is catching? Or else LIE-berals have decided that drug dealers and addicts are the two latest groups to be encouraged to sell their votes and their souls to LIE-beral Party!)
Rather, the caucus is proposing that Canada adopt the model that has proven successful in Portugal in significantly reducing overdose deaths, decreasing illicit drug use and reducing the social cost of drug abuse.
AS was seen on the TVO documentary, the Portuguese model is also a GREAT WAY to swell the ranks of civil service Hogs and poverty pimps who owe their lives on the gravy train to LIE-berals- its MORE shameless vote buying! While at the same time allowing LIE-berals to make UNFOUNDED CLAIMS about reducing illicit drug use and reducing social costs! Frankly, it looks to me as if the social cost is simply moved around a little! Hiring an army of poverty pimps to hold the hands of hard core addicts is NOT CHEAP!)
Since 2001, Portugal has expanded treatment and harm reduction services, such as safe injection sites, and eliminated criminal penalties for simple possession and consumption of all illegal drugs. A person found in possession of a drug for personal use is no longer arrested but ordered to appear before a “dissuasion commission” which can refer the person to a treatment program or impose administrative sanctions.
(Portugese LIE-berals are acting like 3 year olds- closing their eyes to make the problem “disappear”! Do we Cdns WANT to expand that huge underclass of drug addled morons who cannot and will not ever be self supporting because they are addicted?)

Addicts who fell off the wagon got another round of treatment- with the conditions deteriorating with each failure. In the first round you were a victim in need of aid. By the third round- if needed- you were regarded as a social parasite in need of punishment for being a slow learner- and you were put on a Chinese version of Ontari-owe Works- performing various useful tasks at the treatment centre such as cleaning up vomit and washing bed sheets! AS various news reports have told us- it is easier to get drugs in Cdn jail than on the street! This is an UTTER FAILURE of the legal system!)
In a recent byelection in Toronto’s Scarborough-Agincourt, the Conservative candidate ran social media ads, one of which featured a grainy photo of a junkie injecting heroin into his arm. The ads warned voters about the Liberals’ plan to legalize pot and create more safe injection sites.
“The Trudeau Liberals want to bring dangerous drugs into our community,” one ad asserted. “The Liberals are rushing to legalizing (sic) marijuana despite concerns being raised by police and health professionals. And now they want to legalize prescription heroin!”
(LIE-berals are also blind and deaf to the concerns of Cdn public who DO NOT want safe injection sites or housing for addicts in their neighborhoods!)
It’s not hard to imagine how much sharper Conservative attacks would become if the Liberal party adopts the caucus proposal. But Erskine-Smith said Liberals shouldn’t let that deter them.
(No- and LIE-berals don’t let public opinion sway them either! They were warned many years ago that their mouldy green energy plan and the sale of Hydro to private investors would get them into trouble and look at them now! Wynne-bag is the most hated premier in history!)

Well of course they are not! It is easier to cross the border in Quebec than Saskatechewan and because of that 3 times more illegals are coming to Quebec than to points west!
In addition- Haitians speak French and thus can communicate more easily with the Francophone Quebecers- an obvious economic and social advantage- in fact Quebec has made a habit of luring Haitians in the past -to increase the number of French speakers in the country! That is how our former Governor General Michelle Jean got here! The problem is that although
Haitians start out speaking French- a lot of them quickly learn English and abandon French!

OTTAWA — The federal Liberal party’s chief fundraiser says he has never violated Canada’s tax laws through the use of offshore tax havens.
(There may not have been any laws broken but it is typical and very UNSAVOURY LIE-beral behaviour to exploit every tax dodge to the absolute maximum- while sticking it to ordinary Cdns who lack the connections and resources to exploit those loopholes! Former LIE-beral finance minister-and briefly prime minister- Pail Martin exported billion dollars worth of his Canada Steamship Lines resources out of Canada without the bother of paying any export duties- using tax loopholes he left in his own legislation. Martin is in the same boat as Bronfman- no actual criminal wrong doing is proven but both men are snared in deals reeking of corruption and LIE-beral privilege!)
(LIE-beral prime minster Jean Chretien was snared in a similar situation when he intervened to ensure that a guy suspected of organized crime connections could get a govt grant- since no bank would deal with him- to buy a hotel owned by Chretien- again the reek of corruption and favouritism was very strong! Then there is the LIE-beral adscam business in which three billion dollars of Cdn tax money disappeared from the federal Human Resources Ministry under very suspect conditions- with two men eventually being sentenced to jail terms- just more highly suspect reek of corruption surrounding LIE-beral affairs! LIE-berals have made it clear we must do as they say but we are forbidden to benefit as they do!)
Stephen Bronfman has issued a statement saying he’s never funded nor used offshore trusts, and that all his Canadian trusts have paid all federal taxes on their income.
Tax avoidance measures involving offshore trusts are legal, provided that the trust is genuinely managed offshore and that Canadian taxes are paid on any Canadian contributions.
(OH the weasel words! The Bronfman money is offshore specifically to avoid Cdn taxes and increase earnings so assurances that all applicable Cdn taxes have been paid is an empty assurance that means nothing! It is a silly LIE-beral word game to reduce taxes by hiring an “off-shore” manager to do exactly the same work as a Cdn manager- for way less tax!)
According to the Toronto Star and CBC/Radio Canada, records suggest Bronfman and his family’s Montreal-based investment company, Claridge Inc., were linked to an offshore trust in the Cayman Islands that may have used questionable means to avoid paying millions in taxes.
Bronfman says he made a single loan more than 25 years ago to the trust that was repaid five months later, which was all in full compliance with Canadian law.
The statement says that Bronfman, a close friend of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, will not be making any further comment about the revelations in the wake of a second massive leak of tax-haven financial records.
While Justin Trudeau spent the summer calling local business operators tax cheats, it was in fact his top lieutenants within the Liberal Party of Canada who were avoiding paying taxes here in Canada.
It is no secret that the Prime Minister needs money to pay for his out-of-control deficits. But instead of cracking down on the tax-avoidance schemes, described by the Paradise Papers, used by his wealthy friends, like Stephen Bronfman, Trudeau is forcing you to pay the bill.
Justin Trudeau's well-connected Liberal friends get away with paying less, and you pay more. There is nothing fair about that.

(For anybody who is interested- this kind of stuff- major barriers to inter provincial trade was supposed to STOP back when Brian Mulroney signed that first Free Trade Agreement. The fact that LIE-berals have quietly eroded the former free trade provisions between provinces is simply what happens when you let LIE-berals suck up to powerful unions! In Vancouver it is easier to get wine from Australia, Chile and South Africa than it is to get wine from Ontari-owe and this is a national disgrace especially as Ontari-owe wine is of just as good quality and price as the foreign stuff!)

There’s been a lot of talk about free trade lately. This is due in part to the renegotiation of NAFTA, and to the Trans-Pacific Partnership that many governments are trying to resuscitate. In Canada, a long-awaited inter-provincial free trade deal was also signed in the spring, and a case before the Supreme Court this week could potentially lead to even freer trade within Canada.
Why do such agreements and court cases matter? Quite simply because freer trade makes us all richer.
(Surely it is not a difficult argument to explain why it is better for Canadian economy for us to drink Ontari-owe wine rather than Chilean or South African stuff?)
Two hundred years after the discovery of the law of comparative advantage, economists have had time to measure the effects of free trade, and studies leave little doubt: Free trade increases competition, as the number of companies in a given market goes up, which leads to better products; it increases consumer choice; it increases the size of markets, which makes economies of scale possible; and it forces companies to become more productive.
(Too bad that economies of scale and vertical integration neutralize that law of comparative advantage- with powerful corporations buying up all the little players and consolidating power in a few hands and then adding powerful unions with the ear of LIE-beral govt who like to monkey with the import/export rules by denying space on LCBO shelves for stuff they deem `unsuitable`!)
All of these phenomena reduce prices and raise salaries. The purchasing power of households thus increases, as they have more to spend and can buy more with each dollar.
(The devil is in the details- salaries are NOT rising and competition is to often strangled when corporations, LIE-berals and unions collude together -within provinces!)
But while international free trade gets a lot of attention, we forget that free trade between Canada’s provinces is far from perfect. The Comeau case is being heard this week by the Supreme Court of Canada.
In 2012, Mr. Comeau was stopped for having brought back home to New Brunswick fourteen cases of beer and three bottles of spirits purchased in Quebec. He contested his fine and won his case before the Provincial Court. Now, the Supreme Court will have to decide if Canadians have the right to transport legally purchased goods, including alcohol, from one province to another.
(This is NUTS! Would they sue of he filled up his car with gas in Ontari-owe and drove it to Quebec? The answer is YES- if it was easy to prove! In summer 2017, LIE-beral hug a thug judges RELEASED SEVEN accused murderers because LIE-berals could not arrange trials with “a reasonable time”! LIE-berals are all about making examples of others- just so long as it does not inconvenience THEM! )
This case is important because it highlights the fact that the Canadian provinces do not practice free trade among themselves. And we want free trade. A poll conducted by Ipsos on behalf of the Montreal Economic Institute shows that 89% of Canadians think they should be allowed to bring any legally purchased product from one province to another.
Specifically regarding alcohol, 78% think they should be allowed to bring any amount of beer or wine from one province into another, while 84% think they should be allowed to order wine directly from a winery in another province.
(If you are willing to pay the shipping costs then why not order anything you want from within Canada? Answer: because greedy Hogs in each province want THEIR CUT of sales tax- they do NOT want you licking and choosing what and were you buy and they BELIEVE THEY ARE ENTITLED to treat YOU as a cash cow!)
And Canadians don’t buy the justifications that provinces offer for blocking inter-provincial free trade. Only 16% think that governments should be allowed to impose restrictions against goods from other provinces to protect their own industries, and only 12% think they should be allowed to do so to collect more revenues.
A Statistics Canada study calculated that the many restrictions on internal trade in Canada correspond to an average tariff of 6.9% on goods traded between provinces. This rate is much higher than the average Canadian tariff on international imports (1%) and even the average global tariff (2.9%). Indeed, it is often easier to export to another country than to another Canadian province.
(AS the Vancouver example shows, it has been easier to import from Chile than from Ontari-owe!)
The Supreme Court has an opportunity to correct this provincial protectionism by reaffirming the vision of the Fathers of Confederation, who wanted to create a vast common market. When we understand the advantages of free trade, we cannot help but cheer for the possibility that the Court could bring down provincial trade barriers, to the great benefit of all Canadian consumers.
(The idea behind that “vast common market” in Canada is also about economies of scale- we can get better results when we work together! Too bad LIE-beals and Hogs are prepared to damage us if they do not get their ENTITLEMENTS!)
