I blame the Catholic Church, which is pretty dominant in Latin America

It's a common factor that spans both the Spanish and Portuguese colonial occupations.

Protestantism ain't perfect but it did engender hard-working, self-sufficient colonies with "flatter" governing leaderships.

The top-down pyramidal feudalism of Latin America continued well into the 20th century (and also in Quebec). They never quite shook off all of the baggage that goes with the sort of power that their ruling elites were (are) able to yield.

So Trumps idea to eliminate the drug trade is laughable. The US controls the world drug trade in opium and cocaine.

Trump attorney Cohen under investigation for possible bank fraud, campaign finance violations, person familiar with case says

Michael Cohen, the longtime attorney of President Trump, is under federal investigation for possible bank fraud, wire fraud and campaign finance violations, according to a person with knowledge of the case.

FBI agents on Monday raided Cohens Manhattan office, home and hotel room as part of the investigation, seizing records about Cohens clients, including those related to a 2016 payment he made to adult-film star Stormy Daniels, who claims to have had a sexual encounter with Trump.

Among the documents seized were privileged communications between Cohen and his clients including those with Trump, according to a person familiar with the investigators work.
FBI agents took Cohens computer, phone and personal financial records as part of the search of his office at Rockefeller Center, the person said.

Stephen Ryan, an attorney for Cohen, called the tactics inappropriate and unnecessary, saying Cohen has cooperated completely with all government entities, including providing thousands of non-privileged documents to the Congress and sitting for depositions under oath

I'll bet that there was some not one single Mexican in Mexico that wants to pay for an American wall.

Bet you there’s a lot of Mexicans in the US who would love to pay for it.

I see someone doing something systematic. That word is beyond the experience of the choatic White House.
Indeed. What makes it rather curious....is that the head of the WH....... seems to CHOOSE inexperience , incompetence, and chaos.

Someone like Meulller who is highly disciplined, thorough, and KNOWS how to lead an investigation in such professional manner that leaks are prevented........ really shows up the dysfunctional WH group.

You see this is exactly why they chose a Republican to lead the investigation.

Can you imagine if Mueller was a Democrat? A Clinton Democrat??

I would agree but there are probably many Mexicans who are sick and tired of the crime and violence associated with moving all these drugs through Mexico to America.

It isn't like everyone in Mexico is making a million dollars off of the drug trade.

Most of them are victimized by it to a degree we probably cannot even imagine.

So Trumps idea to eliminate the drug trade is actually laudable - its just his plan is laughable.

The place to start eliminating the drug trade is on the demand side where they need to start figuring out why so many kids are just throwing their lives away on this shit.
Tune in and drop out man . Free love man.Make love not war MAN .

Don't think so. But he is being very thorough, professional...... and competent.

The Trumpites are the ones feeling threatened.
I really can’t understand how he hasn’t been impeached yet , can you ?

Been there , lived that .

I,m mid sixtys, I was there after it happened, dropped out of some stuff tuned into other stuff, I discovered the shovel early on and thus escaped debt for the most part, the subjugation of trees and rocks appealed to me, I piled up some real estate out of rocks and trees, I still exploit my capital like that, whenever profitable, anything else is speculation, this time of year I consentrate on BTUs.

Try not to use words with more than five letters when you're addressing Cliffy. He has problems with comprehension.
