Let set the record straight, shall we?


First off, the anti-oil people (the vast majority who don't even live there) keep saying that there is no benefit to BC - keep saying that enough and hope people will believe it. BC does stand to benefit by eventually having lower gas prices - it's utterly disingenuous of the BC Premier asking the Feds for "help" in lowering gas prices when once the pipeline is completed, it will happen automatically. It's NOT just oil that will be going through those pipelines but gas as well but hey, ignorance it bliss I guess. The hypocrisy by the BC NDP is incredible.


Secondly, The anti-piprliners keep saying that there was no environmental assessments done or not to their liking and no consultation with the indigenous peoples. It's interesting to note that the natives who are protesting the pipeline don't live anywhere near it. But hey, don't let facts get in the way of the truth. The money is too good.


And lastly, Trans Canada had to (as one of literally hundreds of steps ordered by Environmental Assessment .....) provide mitigation processes in the rare case that there was an oil spill and did so to Environmental Regulator's satisfaction. So to say that nothing as been done is totally a lie. We all want a safe, protected environment. That goes without saying and anyone who says otherwise is being disingenuous. I doubt that Trudeau would not have approved of it if he believed there was any risk (even though I dislike him intensely).


Unfortunately, even though the vast majority of BC'ers want the pipeline, the foreign interference is very well funded and determined to make sure that this pipeline doesn't happen. Makes me wonder if the NDP are somehow also getting funds under the table - wouldn't surprise me at all.


There are those out there who want to see our economy fail because it's to their advantage to do so. Canadians need to wake up and start fighting (figuratively) to ensure this doesn't happen.


The environment is important - especially on the West Coast - it's beautiful and NO ONE wants to see it spoiled. We can have it both ways with careful planning and that's what has been done. .

If I could, I'd nominate your post for best post of the week. Every thing we do has a risk involved: where would we be if Christopher Columbus was afraid to set sail? If we have the ability to put men on Mars surely to God we can move oil without destroying the planet. If you take a close look at the protestors you would find after this problem is resolved they'll be whining about something else. It's never ending! Keep on posting, Dixie. :)

... Oh, and millions of liters of raw sewage dumped into the ocean each and every day in BC.

BTW, the high point for the cost of gas in the Lower Mainland is economically priced at $1.5699/liter

But at least20 cents of that is tax to the province and even more to the feds .

Can't say where the additional cash is being directed (private or public entity) although there will be some gouging going on.

That said, the gubmint is happier than a pig in sh!t as they make a % on the price.. The higher the price, the more $$ that the % relates to.

I can see that tater tot wouldn't mind a little extra $$ for the federal revenues

Do you have any idea how many times I've mentioned TMPL does "batch" shipments of several grades of crude and numerous types refined products?

Maybe if you yell at a building it will sink in?

Never happen , the pipeline opponents will not cave in on their demands to stop this and any other pipeline . They will attempt to stop any new refinery. Want to build a dam , the same clean greens will try and stop you . Ask them to pay for sewage treatment or to clean up after their protest and they will laugh in your face . And they are all the same right Hoid ?

the higher the price of gas the greater the impetus to switch to alternative energy.

gas prices in Vancouver are not coming down , ever.


And that's a good thing,
