When you have a society rife with firearms you certainly want the law to possess them as well

Warfarin......are you for real?

Is this an NRA talking point?

What are guns designed to do?

Shoot paper?

If that is your answer you shouldn't own one.

I already told you that they are designed to contain the energy of an exploding bullet and direct it down range.

Down range from me, it a paper target. Sorry to burst your bubble. Were you hoping I was a deranged killer?

Just pointing out how ridiculous your 'it is designed to kill' ramblings are, boys. Clearly, you need to come back when you have a more rational talking point.

I used to shoot at paper targets with near life-size images of a growling enemy soldier running towards me wearing a Warsaw Pact steel helmet on his head. It was just paper, though and there was no connection whatsoever with shooting actual people.

I got a shotgun that if you know how to speak the languages says "DOn't fire me or I'll blow your face off". The last time I know it was fired was 1946.

Muzzle loader, eh?

Apparently you failed the psycology courses.

man, I wish you guys would have tried all you BS talk with someone matching the personality of John Wayne.

I can imagine what he would do and say....

"Why you just called me a murdering rapist because I own a gun?!?! Why I ought to pistol whip you until you come to your senses."

Is that, in your opinion, a guns purpose?

Absolutely. Anyone that uses it to kill is clearly not trained in its proper use. I know I won't do it. Some ignorant low life bassterd like you perhaps?

11 school shootings in America already this year.

There is a lot of mojo for arming teachers.

"Arming teachers" as such is a silly idea.

Asking for staff to volunteer to take a intensive course on law and the use of handguns in self-defense, requiring them to qualify on the range every 6 months, carefully background checking them, (just like police) and then issuing a license for them to carry concealed. including on school property is an excellent idea.

Now I know for sure that you're a pathetic joke if you pull up John Wayne as some sort of a behavioural template.

How old are you?

clearly the schools need to do a better job at teaching gun safety

There have been 11 attacks on schools, not 11 accidental shootings.

If you want to arm teachers then you will have a good crack at getting the 11 accidental discharges.

If you are going to protect schools with defensive firepower you want it in qualified hands. There will be some staff who might be well suited to it. But the idea of making every teacher in America carry a sidearm in class is out of the question.

You need schools to be protected with cameras so you can see everything and you need to have an operations center in each school where you can run your security.

My own daughters school was shut down Thursday due to a potential shooting incident.

The point of this is that these incidents are becoming more common. There are not always 11 school shootings in America in January. That has not been happening since kids first started going to school. It is not Fake News and it is not going to be less of a problem going forward. It is going to be more of a problem.

The SWAT teams will be gunning down teachers right, left and centre as they automatically go for the ones holding the guns.

Asking a school teacher to pull out a gun and started defending the school is like asking them to pull out a fire hose and start fighting a fire or pull out a scalpel and start operating on a kid who passes out.

Hand guns have only one design criterion and that is to kill human beings at close range. Any other use voids the warranty.
Not sure if you're being sarcastic. I used to have a licence to carry when I worked up north in bear country. I also have a friend who hunts that legally carries a sidearm for bear defense. It's much easier and quicker to pull a .45 out from it's holster, aim and shoot a bear that catches you by surprise (or vice versa) than it is to un-sling your rile from your shoulder, level it and get a shot off.

I know literally nobody who would carry a pistol to shoot a bear. Maybe Dirty Harry.

Probably because they don't hunt, live or work in bear country perhaps? The govt sure thought is was enough of a reason to issue me a licence to carry permit.
