That's about spot-on but all of them have been corrupted in some way. Conservatism is no longer interested in charity. The Libertarians have become disproportionally powerful in Conservatism who are mostly concerned with "What's in it for ME" at the expense of charity to those in need. Christian are commanded to be that way by their founder but the evangelicals have turned their backs on their creed in favour of judgement and punishment.
Liberalism has squeezed of out individual responsibility and substituted it with the perpetual nanny state.
Socialists KNOW what the common good is and you had goddam better comply of you'll end up in a labour camp until you mend your ways and follow the official truth.

the tariffs are there in order to protect the industry.
For instance Trump just put tariffs on solar panels and washing machines - because without them American makers would be ruined.
That's how trade wars start: everyone wants to protect their industry and then we ruin everyone's economy. when one country turns to protectionism, others retaliate. That's how it starts. Just like in hot wars, trade wars tend to escalate and hurt everything in the process. NIMBYism at its best. All self interest.
If we just drop tariffs, then the market will regulate itself. that's more or less what Singapore has done, and it's worked out well. It's per head GDP is even higher than Canada's.
Figures can lie and liars can figure. It would be nice to see a flow chart where we can tell where ALL the money is really going. When a tycoon donates $1 million to a hospital, where does that money show up? How much of a tycoon's money is spent hiring members of the middle class?
