Its the way the capitalism system works. You can never ever take money from the corporation and give it to the workers. Like everybody said. they will lay off, automate and raise prices, so everybody pays but the corporation.
The corporation is designed to constantly find ways to make more money and making less money is never an option. So if you do the math. A corporation will have a steady increase in money as there will be a slowly decrease in money to everybody else. Add to that mergers that further prevent the small guy from getting a foothold in that market.

Net effect.
Less Rich corporations, more poorer people.
Until you have only a few corporations maybe even one. and all poor people.

Capitalism is flawed and we all going to pay for it soon.

Better than than most private pensions.

Basically speaking on average you can only get out of your pension what you pay into it. Of course some come up short while others gain due mainly to differences in longevity. I'm one of the lucky ones, I'm in my 19th year of collecting superannuation and my 15th year of collecting C.P.P. You want me to stick a gun in my mouth and cut them all off? :) :)

Big question .............................."Is every job out there supposed to support a family of five in an urban location"? Ain't going to happen!

Hey, I try to compensate - sometimes when I pass a Sally Ann kettle I drop in a Loony! :) :)

You can never ever take money from the corporation and give it to the workers.

Except in the form of salaries, pension contributions and benefits, right?

The corporation is designed to constantly find ways to make more money and making less money is never an option.

That would be because if the corp isn't making money, they end up closing their doors... No different than if you decide to stop paying your utility bill, the provider stops delivering the service

So if you do the math. A corporation will have a steady increase in money as there will be a slowly decrease in money to everybody else. Add to that mergers that further prevent the small guy from getting a foothold in that market.

Lemme see... Corp taxes, a bevy of licenses, fees and permits, let alone the capital paid to shareholders (that in turn pay taxes).

Everyone, including the small guy see some form of benefit from any/all corps in the community

Capitalism is flawed and we all going to pay for it soon.

... And the better system is?

If it doesn't you get festering slums ... maybe even revolution. It is likely a really good investment to prevent both from happening and short-sighted to expect the "surplus population" to just starve to death quietly.

When Seattle officials voted three years ago to incrementally boost the city's minimum wage up to $15 an hour, they'd hoped to improve the lives of low-income workers. Yet according to a major new study that could force economists to reassess past research on the issue, the hike has had the opposite effect.Jun 26, 2017

The city is gradually increasing the hourly minimum to $15 over several years. Already, though, some employers have not been able to afford the increased minimums. They've cut their payrolls, putting off new hiring, reducing hours or letting their workers go, the study found.

The costs to low-wage workers in Seattle outweighed the benefits by a ratio of three to one, according to the study, conducted by a group of economists at the University of Washington who were commissioned by the city.

Seattle's $15 minimum wage may be hurting workers, report finds
A report from the University of Washington (UW), found that when wages increased to $13 in 2016, some companies may have responded by cutting low-wage workers' hours. The study, which was funded in part by the city of Seattle, found that workers clocked 9% fewer hours on average, and earned $125 less each month after the most recent increase.

You can set the minimum wage at $40 an hour, Pete, and people will still not be any better off!
"Minimum wage" is what establishes your fortunes, not the amount!

The article is written by a cabinet member in the dyke-bitch’s gubmint, what do you expect him to say.

Losing the buying power of a dollar is never a good thing.

You got that right, Pete. I've been watching this minimum wage go up for over 60 years and yet at no time have people been better off because of it. The same people who were poor then are poor now................the wage slave! It's actually worse now than then, back in the day people were merely poor, now they are both poor and deep in debt!

P.S. the pay day loan sharks should all be in jail!
