Pot users better educated and more social than non smokers: study says

Good news, tokers. Pot smokers are better educated and more sociable than their teetotal counterparts.

Or at least that’s according to an online survey that was recently conducted by lifestyle brand Civilized and research firm PSB.

The company conducted online interviews with 1,600 North American adults to find out their views on cannabis and cannabis usage, as well as to determine general habits and behaviours of both users and non-users.

And the results were a little different than you might think.

Out of those questioned, pot smokers were slightly more educated than non-users with 36% of those questioned having a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree compared to just 30% of non-users.

And, even though you might think that pot smokers are more likely to hide away in their basements munching on Jalapeno Cheetos and high scoring old Nintendo games in-between bong hits (or so we’ve heard anyway); the survey also found that people who enjoy cannabis lead dope social lives too.

In fact, out of those questioned in Canada, 52% of pot smokers were likely to have gone to a music festival, movie theatre, museum, pub, bar or club in the last month than non-users (30%).

In a release, Jason Boxt, Executive Vice-President of PSB, says, “This research demonstrates a significant difference between perception and reality – it’s fascinating. As cannabis policy continues to change, it will be interesting to track how attitudes continue to evolve.”

The survey also found that support for the legalization of cannabis is high with four in five Americans (79%) and Canadians (81%) supporting it in some form.

The findings also highlighted a few key differences between cannabis users both north and south of the border. Here in Canada for example we’re more likely to smoke a joint (68%) than our American counterparts (52%). While our friends south of the border prefer pipes (45% vs 32%).

We Canadians, it seems, are better at multitasking while high. Whether it’s doing housework (36% vs. 29%), hanging out with friends (56% vs. 43%) or enjoying creative pursuits (36% vs. 27%), we’re much more likely than those in the US to combine our cannabis with other activities.

Just remember, it’s puff, puff, pass.

Well, the whole prohibition thing and the resulting PR is the result of corporations who like to indulge in the corporate rape of the non moving carcasses of religitoids, drunks and pill heads.

Interestingly, I am using magnesium chloride now and have found that relieves me of the chronic use of pot as a medicine, and those stats conform to the amount of people who are short on magnesium which when not deficient, makes one relax nicely without the need for pot.

Basically it prevents all the medical conditions which pot might be used to self medicate to relieve.

The problem is in the definition of pot impairment. By picking an arbitrary number and going with it the cops can make the picture fit the party line.
I would bet there are more drivers impaired by prescription meds than pot but it will never show up in government approved media reports.

check this out:

I like the brine water topical spray just under the tongue so you don't get the runs like the pills will give you
Epsome salts work well in the bath, but Mag chloride under the tongue IMHO is best.

It just tastes like salt water...and its not expensive either.

This thread is the ultimate (for now) in fake news.

Hopefully you aren't like all the teachers I had in high school, who while preaching the standard stuff about the evils of weed all went to the local hotel for lunch every friday and got smashed before going back to school.
:)
..and my mother was head of the science department and first in line at the bar there too.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.....
I currently take melatonin or unisom and sometimes both and I'm thinking that the hydrochlorothiazide I'm taking for hypertension could be causing a loss of magnesium in the system besides the sodium they are supposed to take out...

Yeah, you have to cook it to get high if you are eating it.

Magnesium also dropped my blood pressure after about two weeks by 25 over 10 points

Salt DOESN'T cause high blood pressure, new study claims
Study of more than 8,000 French adults found no link between salt consumption and high blood pressure
30 per cent of people in England and the U.S. suffer hypertension - high blood pressure, the most prevalent chronic disease in the world
Researchers found body mass index (BMI) had the greatest impact on systolic blood pressure levels

I am about to add melotonin to the magnesium to see how that helps too.

Salt doesn't by itself cause high blood pressure but it makes you retain water, and that may cause a rise in blood pressure...

1/2 fresh squeezed lemon, three fingers of water, level teaspoon baking soda, drink first thing in the morning, don't eat for two hours, no sugar no gluten, 1 1/2 pounds a day burned off weight, adjusts your PH to optimum, two inches off my gut and about 35 lbs gone in 6 weeks or so. Easyest diet ever, NO SUGAR NO MORE,NO GLUTEN, BIG KILLERS

I can't tell you how irate I get when I have to smell tobacco or marijuana smoke in public. If you want to pollute the air, keep it on your own property at least fer cryin out loud. When I inhale your smoke, I'm an unwilling participant in your ruining our collective health.
