Justin Trudeau is a political leader. You might not like his politics (as I don't) and you might think he's a bad leader, but this kind of humanizing interaction with people is part of what a democratic leader is supposed to do. He may seem goofy at times and the things he does may look like stunts (like jogging past a wedding or whatever), but he's doing his job.

The reason why I say these criticism actually make me like him is because you're pointing out that Trudeau is connecting with people, instead of being absent and aloof. That's a good thing.

Politically leaders usually need charisma. Justin Trudeau has a ton of it, but obviously a lot of people don't get it and are turned off by his personality. The same must be true for Trump. Some leaders you see the charisma and you understand why people like them even if you don't like them yourself. I don't like Trudeau politically, but I get that he's charismatic. I would say the same for George W Bush. It was clear that he could easily relate to people. But I find Trump's appeal inexplicable. People are enamored with Trump, so he obviously has some connection. He must have a weird kind of charisma that appeals to the bitterness and hatred of his supporters.

Not only is he a goof, but he's a dangerous, destabilizing quisling for the most destructive forces raging through the West at this time. A vocal champion of homosexuality, feminism, paganism, globalism, multiculturalism, pseudo-scentific 'environmentalism'.. all at the expense of the economically viable, rational, moral, identifiable nation state.

Let's face, the guy is a hopeless loser, without an iota of vision, courage, integrity or undersanding of Canada.. and he's on the wrong side of history.

I don't know much about Rob Ford out here on the west coast, but he struck as more of a George W. Bush. He had the same kind of folksy, down-to-earth charisma. But I don't know as I never really followed his career. Trump isn't like that. Trump doesn't just appeal to idiots. He appeals to assholes. That's a kind of charisma I just don't see, but it has to be there.

Then again, there's Stephen Harper who objectively had no charisma at all. You couldn't even say his supporters really liked him. He fit into the political stalemate that characterized the past decade in Canadian politics. He was a placeholder and if you liked his politics, you could say his lack of personality was just the kind of thing you needed for a steady government in difficult times.

What you see with Trump is basically what you get! What screws him up a lot of times is bigger forces at play in the environment he's emerged in. What he didn't plan for at the get go is the difference between his perceived power and his actually power. The latter falls a little shy!

Um, there's a distinct difference between actually connecting with people and pathetically trying and failing. I really don't see too many engaged faces in that "crowd". Kind of reminds me of the Guitar Hero South Park episode where the kids are thoroughly unimpressed with Randy's actual guitar playing.

It's hard to tell. We need video, but whatever. That one picture isn't the only thing related to my point. Trudeau isn't super cool at everything he does. I think the sock thing makes him look silly. I mean maybe sometimes wear funny socks for a special day, but he's always wearing goofy socks, like he's a special little boy. It's degrading. But he does interact with people in ways that are fun. That picture of him with a puppet must be from some kids thing. What's wrong with that? The Prime Minister should connect with children to get them connected with the world and their country.
