Why are U.S. citizens ignoring the 6% gain on GDP, by not nationalizing health care?

Statistics show that the average U.S. citizen pays considerably more for their, --- bankruptcy creating inhumane medical system, --- than other countries who have nationalized health care. The gain in GDP is around 3%.

It follows economies of scale gains are likely to be about 3%. If a penny saved is a penny earned, I am justified in saying that there would be a 6% saving to the average U.S. citizen.

Why are Americans wasting such a huge amount of gains, when going single payer could bring such a huge gain to each American?

I ask all my Yankee friends; what the hell? Recognize that single payer, pays great dividends.

The Americans hate public health care. As a matter of fact, the only people on earth who hate public health care are the ones that don't have it. In the developed world, that is America, alone. When was the last time you heard the call to tear up our system and adopt theirs?'(...except from a few sociopathic sickos on here)
95 % of Canadians would tell you to get stuffed, as they probably also would in Japan, UK, Taiwan, France, Germany and anywhere else on Europe, etc.

I got a bad sunburn in North Carolina in 1992. Went to the doctor there...$70.00 for the appointment. And that was 25 years ago!

The question is practical BUT when did you ever see this government do anything practical?

Simple - the health care and pharmaceutical industry in the US have had the various members of American governments in their pockets for decades. Its got nothing to do with saving money and everything to do with bribing politicians so that the medical establishment can enjoy multi-million dollar lifestyles.

Which indicates the level of corruption that the various medical related lobby groups have been able to bribe their way to controlling of the American purse.

WaPo: Single-Payer Health Care Would Be 'Astonishingly' Expensive http://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattve...are-would-be-astonishingly-expensive-n2343201

That graph I gave shows that they already have a tremendously expensive system as compared to other national systems.

Indeed, especially when bribes by lobby groups is standard fare.

The US system is based on the belief that governments should not be involved, and so, the idea of a single-payer system is completely unacceptable to most Americans.

It's a completely different viewpoint on society, and they'll never change.

And that is why your wealthy and politicians come to the US for health care. :)

Kinda makes a body wonder why half of us are on government-provided, single-payer health care.

It does, indeed, but many of the people wanting cuts to government programs are the ones benefitting, they just don't seem to realize it.

Who are these people?

People who are receiving government benefits are well aware of where they are coming from and do not want them cut.
