Get the Natives off of the Reserves and start to integrate then into society. There's no work in these ghettos. The surest way to kill a man is to pay him to do nothing.

I was working on my novel "but now I see" when the Matrix came out. It is basically a similar observation of our reality. Our brain is just like a computer. From the day we are born we are programmed into this illusion of reality, told what is real, what to believe, right from wrong, etc. It is a programming of our brain to accept what is socially acceptable to live in this mindless consumer culture. In order to free ones self from the program, one must remove themselves from it. I spent ten years living (squatting) in the forest, living with the animals. I discovered the difference between reality and illusion. The Matrix is the illusion, no doubt about it. Time to get real folks or face extinction at our own hands chasing illusions.
I don't read petroglyph's posts for the same reason I don't go up and smell someone's asshole after they just farted.

In any case the Canadian people have spent BILLIONS on the indigenous and have next to nothing to show for it-those who've done well for themselves like the Haida up north & Capilanos here in Vancouver were already politically savvy people most other tribes across the country were just stone age grunts struggling to survive and so they remain today; proof of this is seen in the near criminal conditions existing on northern reserves little bantustans ruled by viciously corrupt chiefs and their henchmen all supported by gov't largesse.
So there is little to no hope for any of them not now not ever.
