Shortly after the shooting Wednesday morning at a congressional baseball practice, Rep. Mark Walker (R-N.C.) told NBC News that it appeared the "gunman was there to kill as many Republican members as possible." Walker, who was at the practice for the upcoming annual congressional baseball game in Alexandria, Virginia, confirmed he was "shaken but okay."

Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) recounted an "odd" encounter he had as he was leaving the field just minutes before the shooting: "There was a guy that walked up to us that was asking whether it was Republicans or Democrats out there, and it was just a little odd," DeSantis told Fox News.

Multiple people, including Majority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.), two Capitol Hill police officers, and a congressional aide, were reportedly injured.

The shooter, identified as 66-year-old James Hodgkinson, was reportedly a "progressive" who asked what party the congressmen belonged to before opening fire at the baseball field. He died of his injuries.

Kinda shows that the rigid left/right stereotypes much loved on here are completely fuking meaningless, doesn't it. Eaglesmack is probably experiencing orgasmic delight in the proper use of someone's Second Amendment right, to defend against tyranny.

Proper use? I don't think so. This clown fired over fifty shots and got five hits. He could barely hit the floor with his gun if he dropped it.

it's probably a lot harder to hit real people who are scared, screaming and running amok then it is to hit paper targets, not that I would know personally. I've only ever shot a pellet gun.

Using your rationalization, we should always practice with live targets....
Would you be willing to volunteer? ......

Probably not TP.

But it does show how hate filled and violent the liberals are. Sh*tty shooters as well.

If you don't know how to shoot. Especially with an M-4.

Is it an authentic inability of yours to comprehend what you read or are you intentionally miscomprahending so you can make the attempt to be witty?

Not really. I'll tell you what happened. This punk was getting off on his moment of glory, and started breathing hard and trembling. So his shots went wild. Hell, he probably didn't aim. If he'd taken four deep breaths, tucked the butt into his shoulder properly, and used the sights for their intended purpose, he'da got a lot more done.

The Democrats, liberals, and the MSM have blood on their hands.

And what about all those other times when it was right wingers?

This entire thing is horrific, be you left or right. Another pos human thinking they have the right to take lives of people 'just cause'.

IMO this whole situation STILL proves that there needs to be some sort of gun... something. Registration, restriction, whatever.

This is a sad day for the USA and democracy...

This shooter is nothing but a terrorist and should be treated as such.

Doesn't matter left or right... however I don't really believe in that BS.

I believe in guns, death penalty, limits on abortion and lower taxes.. but believe in universal health care, and don't much like Trump... however do like some of his bills passed.

The man accused of opening fire on a GOP baseball practice Wednesday declared his love for Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC show and ranted against Republicans in a series of letters to the editor of his local Illinois newspaper.

“One of my favorite TV shows is ‘The Rachel Maddow Show’ on MSNBC,” James Hodgkinson began in one of the letters

He was also revealed to be a volunteer for the Bernie Sanders campaign.

This one was a tad unusual. It was the usual "American freedom lover excercises Second Ammendment Rights because he can" but with a political edge. While this was going to on, the regular, scheduled, weekly USA mass shootings was going on at a UPS warehouse. It fits the usual, regular, "gunz-fur-freedumb" exercise that make America the greatest country that ever was, will ever be and that you could possibly imagine.
