A Mouse Once Bit My Sister
Kind of interesting watching the religious scrambling to divert attention by trying to discredit other for not believing. A sure sign that the article struck a nerve, one that is actually unsure of itself. It reminds me of the time I was sitting in the Halcyon hot springs when a tourist asked me what was in the water that was so relaxing. I said Lithium. He asked what it was used for. I said "to calm down schizophrenics and bi-polar people. He immediately said, "I'm OK!" rather nervous like. In my mind I said, "Ya riiight!"

The vastness of your intolerance is a sure sign that you are completely indoctrinated.

Only Cliffy's ideology is acceptable and only Cliffy will sit in judgement and approve accepted thought.

.... I hear that's the way that cults operate

Studies .. what studies? Anyone comes and makes some statistics and to his own conviction .. not necessarily any study is correct.
Religions also differ .. the religion of the idolatry: it is the ignorance; the religion of God it is the enlightenment.
The religion of God: the exclusive devotion to God alone .. it came to correct the flaws of the idolatry and the association with God.
So all these are religions.
Fundamentalism and extremism: what does this imply?
Either you believe and be firm in your belief, or if not what else? .. wavering .. doubting or not holding fast with the belief.
The atheists and idolaters are also fanatic.
Flexibility of mind: man should think and reason, but when he reaches to recognizing God and His true religion, what's the meaning then of such terms as fundamentalism and extremism? it is the hoax.
Either you believe in God alone without associate or equal or not; and if one truly believes, he should devote himself or else it is not the belief or faith.

I demand a consolation prize
Just being you deserves consolation.

How are things down at Caesar & Caesar?

A "Theory" is a combination of one or more basic hypotheses, plus a body of knowledge about what the hypotheses imply and how they interrelate to each other, which can together (allegedly) explain many things. Examples: "Evolutionary theory", "Quantum theory", "Marxist theory". A theory may be true or false, correct or incorrect. A biologist teaching "evolutionary theory" believes that the theory is true, while a physicist teaching "19th-century aether theory" believes that the theory is false.

A "Law" is usually more specific, something that can be summarized in a sentence or an equation, like "Newton's law of gravity". A law may be true or false. For example, Newton's law of gravity is false (strictly speaking).

So, these words are not usually used in science to express relative degrees of confidence. Instead, if you want to express confidence, you would use other words, like "fact" or "true" for something you're very confident in, or "hypothesis" or "working hypothesis" or "belief" or "guess" otherwise.
Wrong. And since you claim to be a scientist, you don't even get a consolation prize.

One of my colleagues said to me once: "See that one [another colleague] whose name is so and so; he is trivial: he is without principle!" [although he has good manners.]

I cannot imagine one without faith or belief .. truly he is trivial: how can anyone be without belief, and when he reaches to the correct belief, he should be firm in his belief.

This is the way of Prophet Abraham and the believers together with him.

Now here is an observation that tends to affirm the study's findings.

Grades of the belief or faith:

First the submission to God's religion: to be a Muslim.
Then to believe more: to be a believer.
Then to be certain: this is the certainty of belief.
Then to practice the belief and confirm it with the righteous work.

Quran 49: 14, which means:

[The rural Arabs of the tribe of Bani Asad came to the Prophet in a year of starvation, and showed their conversion, but in reality they were not believers; they only submitted themselves in order to obtain the alms, which they came to ask from the Prophet:]

14. The Arabs [of the desert: the tribesmen of Bani Asad] say, 'We believe.'

[So God – be glorified – said:]

Say, [Mohammed, to them]: 'You have not believed yet; rather say, "We have submitted ourselves [to the religion which you brought]";

But when belief enters [gradually] into your hearts, [you may then say: "We believe."]

If you obey God and His Messenger, He will not detract anything from your deeds.

God is All-forgiving [of believers who repent], All-Merciful [to those who regret.]'

[Then God – be glorified – started to describe the believers, and He said:]

15. The [true] believers [in fact] are only those who
believed in God and His messenger,
and have never since doubted,
and [then] have striven with their wealth and their persons in the cause of God;

such are the truthful.

Read carefully the words to which you have replied. They are related to the trivial one without faith or belief.

I don't participate in cannibalistic rituals, but thanks anyways!

Why not the real thing?

You can eat the bravery of your adversary and make it your own.

I became a lot more inquisitive and also organised after that Census taker.

I remember learning how the Maori would eat the warriors they defeated in battle so they could steal their energy but also so they could sh!t them out, cause there was no better insult! ah, funny funny people.
