I love to hear the sound of wailing and Whining from the Liberal left. It is music to my ears. Wait until he completes his term and gets re-elected. THEN?? More wailing!

If that happens, I expect to hear a lot for gunfire as the United States goes totally to pieces. Besides, are there going to be any more elections? Are you sure?

Virtually everyone who voted FOR Trump, something in the order 98%, say they do not regret their vote and would vote for him again. I assume about the same percentage of those who voted AGAINST him (as opposed to FOR Hillary) would say the same.

We are in for a protracted period of an extremely polarized electorate, largely divided along the trenches of the culture wars. But people vote their cultural preferences in opinion polls, and their wallets in elections.

If Trump delivers on his promises on the economy, and specifically in revitalizing primary industries like steel, autos, heavy industry, textiles he will have no trouble being reelected.

Rots of Ruck turning the clock back to 1970. Post-industrial is post-industrial. There is no going back, no need for American metal goods in the World, anymore. It was easy to sell stuff after WWII when all of the competitors in the World were piles of rubble. It rather flattering to one's performance.

Now, 21st century reality ... America competes against Germany, Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Mexico, Canada, the EU, Britain.... and they all do something better than the US does.

Trump can blah-blah away but he can't fix America.

Particularly since america does not want to be fixed.

It likes all its character flaws just fine. So there is no motivation for change or it would have done it some time ago. Change has to come from within......not from some self appointed "savior" or "fixer with delusions of grandiosity. wanting t o create america into "his own image"..

will be interesting to see how he fares on his first international trip . given that his "diplomatic " skills are non existent , he is tactless and boorish, and believes that each relationship/interaction is a business transaction.

Not to mention that he has offended most of the nations on the planet .......except Russia and now he thinks Kim of NK is 'smart cookie"

There is also a deeper problem at work in the US. Almost from birth Americans are told that their county is the most democratic, the most egalitarian, and the noblest nations that has ever existed. As a result only a few realize that the US government is broken and the numerous ills that plague the nation are often ignored. The Dumpster is a product of this society; a failed businessman turned politician who thinks that he can solve world problems using the techniques of a real-estate tycoon.

Whatever people think about Trump, I don't think a "failed business man" is a valid description. I'd guess there are literally thousands who would love to have 10% of his money. :) :)
His approval rating at this point in the four year cycle is irrelevant! :)

True enough. "Successful Con Artist" is a far more accurate description.

He's a showman. Most of his major business ventures failed. What kept him going was the fact that the banks who foreclosed on his businesses agreed to pay him over $400,000 a month if he would continue to promote them. In much the same way many businesses paid him for use of his name; a name that got him a "reality show" gig. And. of course, there is the very nice inheritance he got from his parents, which started him on his way. He is very good at promoting himself, but if his first few months in office are any indication of his business skills he probably couldn't run a Kool-Aid stand.

Here is a detailed report on the Dumpster's business ventures if you care to read it.

excellent post. Informative. Agree: he is a showmen with self promotion the main factor.

It is evident from his campaign and now early days in his administration.......that he has NO business skills , NO diplomatic skills, NO verbal skills, NO real people skills ( as evidenced by his behavior with various international visitors. He favors some and can hardly be polite to some others. Some folks (that defend him) say: Well he calls it as it is.. NO.....he does not.......he calls it as HE sees it..and that is highly prejudiced.(to his own biases It begs the question of why and what kind of person would vote for this kind of person to be the leader of a major world country.Unless their hatred/prejudice against Hillary was so great they made an emotional decision favoring Trump...who was totally unqualified. On many levels

So it seems to me that you are in effect saying is Trump's opinion and view of things is inferior to other's views! I'm not sure he would "buy" that!
