Now you can all stop picking on Obama as his approval numbers surpass those of Reagan:

Barack Obama is now viewed more positively than Ronald Reagan was in 1988

Source: Washington Post

Pollster.com's Charles Franklin was a little ahead of the curve Sunday morning when he pointed out that President Obama's approval rating right now is among the highest Election-Day approval ratings in recent history.

Franklin tracked recent survey results by party to evaluate Obama's approval, finding that, at 52.1 percent on average, he's viewed more positively now than Ronald Reagan was at the end of his second term, but not as positively as was Bill Clinton at the end of his.

On Election Day 2012, Obama was right at 50 percent, according to Gallup. For past presidents, we have to interpolate from poll numbers on either side of Election Day. But Franklin appears to be right: Obama's more popular now than was Reagan in 1988 -- or any modern era president in office at election time in the past four decades except Clinton in 2000 and Reagan in 1984.

I understand President Obama is again going overseas to conduct some foreign dealings. Too bad he failed to understand that he needs to finish out all business at home before going overseas. The supreme court still has a vacancy and he has done nothing, nor enlisted anyone's help in Congress, to overcome senate obstructionism in filling that vacancy.

Conveniently avoiding any responsibility for quelling the masses and dumping the entire mess and any hope for a resolution of the disquiet squarely in the lap of the one responsible for it in the first place. I imagine he is garnering no small measure of satisfaction over that.

That much is true as well. I condemned Bush for doing just that and do the same to Obama: settle your domestic affairs and get the hell out of all foreign ones!

I saw Obama speaking in Greece today. That man is the most boring speaker on the planet!
He is also a back-stabber.
In his meeting with Trump and immediately afterward he was full of nice things to say and commitments to help a smooth transition and offer advice.
Now he sneaks off to Greece and speaks against Trump behind his back. Meanwhile ignoring the home front for which he is still responsible.
He'll only be President for a few more weeks. What can he accomplish by touring Europe now at taxpayers expense? Sounds like a paid vacation to me! Last chance to spend from the public purse.

What masses? You consider a dozen or so protests, only a couple of which have produced any violence, to be masses?

He has nominated a justice, and what do you think he could do to overcome the "obstructionism?"

Maybe he misplaced his teleprompter?

Back when Obama first declared his run for the Presidency, I tuned in to see what he was all about. At that time, I found him to be one of the most charismatic and electrifying speakers I had the pleasure to listen in a very long time. He had the ability to charm his audience and draw them in to his message.

He is also a back-stabber.
He's a politician.

In his meeting with Trump and immediately afterward he was full of nice things to say and commitments to help a smooth transition and offer advice.
Oh he was full of something all right...........most likely pent up rage that he now had to shake the hand of the man who, less than a week prior to their meeting, he had stated would never hold the office of President.............must have been hard to hold back all that gall.

He did what he had to do as an out-going President but anyone who knows a bit about body language could see that it was anything but a joyful time for him.

Now he sneaks off to Greece and speaks against Trump behind his back. Meanwhile ignoring the home front for which he is still responsible.
LOL.......you are so funny. Too bad it is a stupid description of a Presidential visit to Greece. Albeit, he probably could hardly wait to high-tail it out of Washington and avoid all those awkward questions about the Trump Presidency.

He'll only be President for a few more weeks. What can he accomplish by touring Europe now at taxpayers expense? Sounds like a paid vacation to me! Last chance to spend from the public purse.
Bingo! To be fair, he isn't the first President or Prime Minister to do so. Besides, he wanted to spend some more time with his new best friend Tweedledum.

Ah, I see. You think the ordinary people of the U.S. need to be quelled.

Thanks for the clarification.

I think there are certain factions within the American and Canadian population that are entitled, narcissistic attention junkies who would attend the opening of a toilet lid if their 'friends' on FB told them they were going.

It would be truly refreshing to find out just how many of those who took to the streets actually voted. Those who did, have reason to be unhappy. They do not have license to cause mayhem of any sort.

Had last week's election been a popularity contest rather than electoral vote, Hillary would have won. ;)

For a short while he had the majority in the senate but failed to garner their support for his initiatives except for ACA. He lacked the charisma to do it and cannot blame Republicans for that. Further, the DNC (not him) lost the mid term elections that put the Republicans back in charge of the Congress. He should have called out both the Dems and Reps for all that stalemate and for failing to fill the USSC vacancy. He needs to stop being a coward about it and call them out for their failure to fill it. Going overseas to get the applause of those people is no solution, it is part of the problem.

Yep, they (Presidents) know all the tricks, that's for sure. I thought he was going over there to ease the concerns and tension about the new man. Hee hee hee.

One tiny problem, I think most voters (me for sure) are more interested in how useful they are and what they are going to do than how popular they are. I'm pretty sure had Hillary got elected, she'd be absolutely useless!
