Churches denounce Doctrine of Discovery

Published on Nov 3, 2016
Clergy from all over the US have come together at Standing Rock to stand in solidarity against the actions of MCSD and the state of ND. Watch as each religion denounces and then burns the Doctrine of Discovery (original in a museum).

Allies Continue to Unite Against Dakota Access Pipeline: 14 Members of Clergy Arrested by Police in Riot Gear

CANNON BALL, NORTH DAKOTA — More than 500 members of clergy representing faiths from around the world gathered at the Oceti Sakowin camp to stand with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s fight against the Dakota Access Pipeline. Hundreds gathered at the Backwater Bridge on Highway 1806 north of camp to pray for water, police and the healing of those affected.

Leaders of various faiths voiced apologies for the centuries of atrocities committed on behalf of various churches including the oppression of religion, language, culture and rescinded the Doctrine of Discovery. The Doctrine of Discovery has been a key premise for European claims to legitimacy on and sovereignty over Indigenous lands and territories. It was used by former British colonies, specifically, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United States of America and was a major influence in Manifest Destiny—a federal policy that legitimized taking of millions of acres of land from America’s first peoples.

Even our children know
<3
One day I found my son lying like this on the floor. I asked him, what he was doing, and he answered:
"Mom, I am giving the Earth a hug. She needs it!"
Let us all teach our children to take good care of the Earth and each other. There is still hope

Canada could face ’20 Standing Rocks,’ says Mohawk chief as Ottawa rejects need for ‘consent’

Jorge Barrera
APTN National News
Canada could face “20 Standing Rocks,” said a Mohawk chief in response to the Justin Trudeau government’s revelation Thursday it doesn’t plan to include consent as part of its consultation approach with First Nations on major resource projects.
Natural Resources Minister Jim Carr told reporters Thursday the Trudeau government believes it only needs to accommodate and consult First Nations before proceeding with major resource development projects and not obtain “free prior and informed consent.”
It’s a position at odds with Supreme Court of Canada rulings which have stated that obtaining consent is part of the consultation spectrum the Crown faces when dealing with First Nations on issues that impact rights, title and territory. The position also undercuts a key element of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples which the Trudeau government has claimed it plans to embrace as part of its efforts toward reconciliation.
Kanesatake Grand Chief Serge Simon said he’s not surprised the Trudeau government says it does not believe it needs to obtain consent to proceed with major projects that impact Indigenous territories.
“New infrastructure to bring in more oil from the tar sands? Forget it, it’s not going to happen,” said Simon, who is grand chief for the Mohawk community at the centre of the 1990 Oka crisis. “I don’t care what Jim Carr says that no consent is necessary….. Consent, it’s what we are demanding and he will never get our consent, not for something like this…. What if we gave Canada 20 Standing Rocks? I wonder if his position will change then?”

The Women of Standing Rock are Midwifing a Global Movement
Indigenous Women Are Standing Strong

Women are leading the way at Standing Rock to protect the waters of North Dakota, and bringing forth a global indigenous spiritual and ecological movement, which honors the integral health and respect of the Earth and people.
"Sacred Stones Camp was begun by women, as a prayer."
A group of Lakota Sioux women from the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, including LaDonna Bravebull Allard, established the Sacred Stones Camp in April by the Cannonball River in North Dakota to protest the building of the Dakota Access Pipeline through their land and water supply.
The crude oil pipeline is being built through sacred lands, burial grounds and medicine harvesting sites, and is a continuation of the abuse of human rights, treaties, and nature.

Odd that they have no respect for other people or the law of the land.

Funny that they all arrived at the protest in oil powered pick-up trucks .

But the fuel they burn doesn't pollute. That's why Indians are exempt from the BC carbon tax scam.

I know you are clueless but don't expect me to educate you. Hint: it is not about oil.

That's true. It is all about money. Mostly how much this bunch can extract from the producers of the world so they can sit on their lazy azzes and complain about how nobody loves them. The gullible SJWs, paid to protest are too stupid to see this.
