Thank you for Ausplaining. Must be nice to live in a country where nobody ever disagrees on anything.

Them fookin Aussies started out as a bunch of gawd damn convicts and derelicts what's he talkin bout.

To their credit, they rapidly progressed to racism and genocide.

I'm actually Canadian... Nova Scotian to be exact. I just happen to live in Australia at the moment (Resident, not Citizen)

But thanks for playing, great rebuttals.

OK, thanks for Cansplaining.

We Murkans have our disagreements and struggles, but we don't have to roll tanks on the streets to keep our happy, united people happy and united.

Hey I didn't create this discussion, I'm just answering the questions others asked. You don't have to convince me of anything because at the end of the day i just don't care. What you guys do to yourself has little concern from me.

But you're right... You don't have to roll your tanks on the streets to keep your people happy and united.

But neither do most other nations.

On the other hand, with all the mass shooting sprees, police killing black people, constant protests that end up violent, etc.... A few tanks rolling down your streets might do your country some good.

Yup, mass shootings, extreme amounts of gun related crime, police using excessive force and lack of oversight, racism, divisions between political beliefs, conflicts between religious beliefs, plus everything else already mentioned in my previous post....

Religion of Peace.

Oh wait, wrong topic.

Yes but the Thanksgiving Parade is right around the corner. With all this doom and gloom you're preaching I'm afraid to go to the Casino I might get shot. I'm locking myself in my room to watch Jack Van Impe.

So, you don't like people dying, and you think tanks are a good solution for that.

OK, clearly you don't know what tanks do.

Yeah, and I wouldn't trade all of it for Quebecers

Canada did.

Just about the only thing that wasn't deployed were tanks (They were all in Shiloh and Baden, probably)

I was a teenager in the Mkntreal area at the time and it was pretty creepy. I rmember being in a grade nine history class having a very serious discussion about the War Measures Act (the teacher knew people who had been scooped up and "disappeared" without due Angular Saxon process). Anyway, an army Iroquois helicopter landed in the field right beside the classroom on totaly unrelated business, mind you but we all went "gulp".

There's always one who disrupts the session in group therapy. My suggestion would be isolation at meal time and outdoor activities suspended for thirty days.

And do not handle sharp objects or operate motorized equipment.

I was there. The tanks did not roll down the streets. They were parked at police stations. The LaPort affair was a false flag to try to get the French to fall back into line and it backfired terribly when Levesque was elected Premier in '73. I knew some FLQ members who said they had nothing to do with any of it and didn't know who was responsible. Trudeau played a chess game and lost.
