Things would get done if they listened to will of the MAJORITY! That's what Democracy is supposed to mean.
It's when minorities get to override the majority that countries get divided. We've made special concessions for minorities that are contrary to the laws of the country. What can you expect but division?
The great fear of the tyranny of the majority is what led us to this point, the pendulum has swung too far. Democracy is really a terrible form of government because a majority can change the rules, not necessarily a majority of the population, just a majority of organized groups for a single cause. 11% of the population can change things to the way they want them if 9% don't want the change and 80% could care less. That's about what we've got.
The founding fathers of the US had the right idea in forming a Republic, where the law was the foundation of the country and its citizens. Just check to see how many times the word "democracy" appears in their Constitution or Bill of Rights to find out what they thought of that idea. Unfortunately they blew it from the get go with too many wrongs to list. Democracy crept in with the tyranny of the majority that followed.
I can't say when "identity politics" started to make inroads but it now drives the agenda of politics worldwide. It's all about me me me, not what is for the common good, unless its good for me me me. Of course that "me" doesn't count if you are just and American or Canadian. Again, I don't remember when hyphenated citizenship came into vogue, but unless you are ***** - American or Canadian you might just as well be a serf. Again, what the prefix to your citizenship is also determines how much clout you have. Divide and conquer, it works.
What! I'm afraid that you are disconnected from reality and a fuzzy headed optimist of the most hopeless class. All went well! Where did the money go? ALL that money spent on bribes fraud weapons for countless warlords and the jewels and keys to the white house for Israel. And the USA is nearer to ruin than happy days. They were somewhat better informed in the days of the Vietnam carnage than they are today.
Bravo,I share some of the same concepts,except I call it human on human,with resulting end agendas of division of people,it's a game,an orchestrated game which has been around for a long time.lifes don't matter,regardless of Color,not saying there are not high risk factors which make people at higher risk for the miscarriage of Justice.
What is changing is social media,for one media access,everyone has phones.
The game of lamb chops escalates,we as neutral humans can no longer be neutral when injustice is delivered,we expect our leaders to deliver unity of process we expect the games to stop,times have changed.

There is no consensus on global warming either, in the '70s it was fear of the coming ice age, that morphed into global warming, When they could prove neither and with the work of computer models and disputed evidence they now use a catch all term, Climate Change.
Well, there is a consensus. Only about 2% are doubters. How many of them are funded by big oil or coal?
So why would they be so determined to spend that much money on something that would result in bogus reports being made? Even bad liars know that getting caught in a lie is worse than the lie being avoided.

Because it is not their money they are spending, its ours. Politicians lie all the time, its not the lie that gets them in trouble, its the cover-up that follows. Nazism, Soviet style socialism, Marxism and so many other isms began not so much as a lie but a belief in an ideology, flawed as they were, it was the lies that perpetuated them because they were flawed, but by then they had so many followers the lies were treated a truth, but they were lies just the same.
I totally agree with very few opinions, but I respect a lot because I think they were still well thought out.
