Actually a better regulated banking system (another aspect of socialism) would have prevented the economic meltdown that took place in the US banking system. Note that Canada's more highly regulated banks did not have to be saved by government intervention.
Moron, there are 11 million people in Cuba, it wouldn't be possible to keep them all in if they wanted. Of course they don't, that's nonsense. The Castro government in the 80s said anyone who doesn't want to be in Cuba can **** off, and a boatlift was arranged and less than 1% of the population actually left. Cuba is in amazing shape considering what their enemies have done to them.

Who but an Idiot could argue with that? One of the main differences between the U.S. and Canada in banking is the fact that the average "Tom, Dick and Harry" can't start up their own bank in Canada and our banks are controlled by rigid Federal regulations.
