"In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry." (2 Timothy 4:1-5 NIV)

In a Roman prison awaiting execution for his faith, the apostle Paul warns the evangelist Timothy at Ephesus of approaching apostasy and its antidote:

Keep your head and preach the word.

"For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."

This is so incredibly older than christian myth. Reality 101, the way it is because it must be, the same lessons throughout all human time, the trials and tribulations, there's no way out but through them, welcome to hell. Put your head to the grindstone, get on with your resurection, born again you will be untill you get it right.

Properly rendered, DS, it is 'preach the word and keep your head':

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."(2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV)
You can't both preach the word and keep your head, because doing the former means you've surrendered the latter to superstition and mythology. God has given us nothing, he's entirely a creation of human imagination and has no reality beyond that. He's a fictional character, and one of the nastiest in all of literature. Anybody who sees the hand of any supernatural being in anything that happens, or doesn't happen, has failed to understand events correctly.

In my experience, the hour of apostasy has arrived. The inhabitants of the earth are being sorted left and right. Abandonment judgment by the One who sets the stage affords freer rein to forces aligned against Christ. Those who claim Christ are tested first.

"For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?" (1 Peter 4:17 NIV)

You are so lost in your myths that you missed the truth: "They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths." - DB

Your experiance is real but it is you who have arrived and not apostasy. Renunciation is a constant an evolutionary progression called change. Those who claim Christ or any other of the high ideals are always tested first because they stick out like the proverbial sore thumb, they draw notice of the powers/forces/opponents. This process is eternal in the human realm, never in one second of life here are we not subject to that process, it is not time dependent. The force called Christ isn't coming back simply because it never left nor can it ever leave. Just my opinion, each to his own.

My cat believes I'm god. His faith is such that he shows up at the door every morning religiously whereupon I shower my benevolence upon him. I think its unfair, certainly not Christian, to relegate anothers supposition that like my cat we to might depend on the benevolence of a higher order of power. I think it's (reason)able to adhere to this hypothysis until falsified. Since creation is infinite when do you suppose this falsification may be realized? We have barely searched the local corners let alone the vastness of the eternal.
part 2/ Creation? Did we realy create anything or isn't discover a better word? Same question for superhuman instead of supernatural.

Keep your head and preach the word.
To who? Conversion is in God's hands rather than mans. We are in charge of our own salvation and nobody else. Coming in 2nd place isn't such a disaster.

Isa:65:21-25:
And they shall build houses,
and inhabit them;
and they shall plant vineyards,
and eat the fruit of them.
They shall not build,
and another inhabit;
they shall not plant,
and another eat:
for as the days of a tree are the days of my people,
and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
They shall not labour in vain,
nor bring forth for trouble;
for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD,
and their offspring with them.
And it shall come to pass,
that before they call,
I will answer;
and while they are yet speaking,
I will hear.
The wolf and the lamb shall feed together,
and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock:
and dust shall be the serpent's meat.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain,
saith the LORD.

Memo, the cat was probably there all night waiting to come in so it has a warm bed to sleep on.

Really? The part just posted is for those who are not believers. The first part below is for the 12 Tribes and the 2nd part is for the Gentiles that are 'believers'. Just what part do you see as being so 'nasty'?

Eze:39:25-29:
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD;
Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob,
and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel,
and will be jealous for my holy name;
After that they have borne their shame,
and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me,
when they dwelt safely in their land,
and none made them afraid.
When I have brought them again from the people,
and gathered them out of their enemies' lands,
and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;
Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God,
which cause them to be led into captivity among the heathen:
but I have gathered them unto their own land,
and have left none of them any more there.
Neither will I hide my face any more from them:
for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel,
saith the Lord GOD.

Zec:13:9:
And I will bring the third part through the fire,
and will refine them as silver is refined,
and will try them as gold is tried:
they shall call on my name,
and I will hear them:
I will say,
It is my people:
and they shall say,
The LORD is my God.

Re:21:3-7:
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying,
Behold,
the tabernacle of God is with men,
and he will dwell with them,
and they shall be his people,
and God himself shall be with them,
and be their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;
and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow,
nor crying,
neither shall there be any more pain:
for the former things are passed away.
And he that sat upon the throne said,
Behold,
I make all things new.
And he said unto me,
Write:
for these words are true and faithful.
And he said unto me,
It is done.
I am Alpha and Omega,
the beginning and the end.
I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
He that overcometh shall inherit all things;
and I will be his God,
and he shall be my son.

In general, believers preach to everyone. In particular, Christians engage whoever has ears to hear. Preaching is more than speaking or writing about Christ. It is living Christ.

Scripture consistently supports the truth that a favorable relationship with God precedes and predicts favorable relationships with men.

The ten commandments (Exodus 20), the Lord's prayer (Luke 11:2-4), and the greatest commandment (Matthew 22:37-39) are well-known Bible passages bearing out this truth.

Not true, TB. I profit from every discussion here. I regard you and all of my Canadian Content friends as bearers of blessings to me : )
I'm honored.

May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
And may you stay
Forever young
