TX Supreme Court Sides With Homeschooling Parents Who Didn’t Teach Their Kids Due to the Rapture

Should homeschooling Christian parents be allowed to withhold education from their children because they believe the Rapture is imminent? The Texas Supreme Court — in true Texas fashion — just ruled in favor of the parents.

The case involved Laura and Michael McIntyre. In 2004, they removed all nine of their children from a private school in order to homeschool them. But Michael’s brotherTracy said he “never observed the children pursuing traditional schoolwork” when they were supposed to be learning.

It wasn’t until the McIntyres’ 17-year-old daughter Tori ran away from home so she could “attend school” that the family was more closely scrutinized. When Tori’s high school needed to know her level of education and what curriculum she had used so they could properly place her, administrators contacted her parents, who refused to cooperate. They argued that a previous Supreme Court ruling let them off the hook from compulsory, regulated education for their children beyond eighth grade.

A lawsuit resulting from that clash was temporarily resolved in 2014 when an Appeals Court ruled that the Supreme Court’s decision didn’t apply to this family:

As far as homeschooling goes, Texas only requires that parents provide a written curriculum “designed to meet basic educational goals” in core subjects, but there’s no mandatory testing to see if the kids are actually learning anything.

It’s been said before, but preventing children from being educated is a form of child abuse. The parents have every right to homeschool their kids, but if they’re neglecting that duty, someone needs to step in. When the Rapture doesn’t come, those kids are going to need a way out of the hellhole the parents are creating for them.

The Hurst-Euless-Bedford school district is apologizing for a teacher who picked an offensive nickname for her class.

A parent shared a picture with FOX 4 that shows the name “Jighaboos” on a laminated classroom sign at Bell Manor Elementary in Bedford.

You put Dream Team and then you have the Jighaboos. Really? Really with that? That’s, that’s unacceptable,” he said.

The outraged dad visited the classroom when it was empty and hurriedly took a photo of the sign. It also has text that reads like a mantra. The first line is, “Mrs. ___’s Jighaboos are at school today to achieve our 6th grade goals and prepare for 7th grade.”

“She makes them recite that out loud,” he said.

The district told FOX 4 the teacher did not know the term is commonly known as a derogatory reference for African Americans. A statement was issued with an apology.

“[We] would like to extend an apology for the inappropriate actions taken by one of our elementary teachers who failed to vet a class name. We take this situation seriously and the issue was immediately addressed with the principal and classroom teacher. Both the principal and the teacher have apologized to the parent reporting this concern,” H-E-B ISD said.

Texas university apologizes for blackface student posting

ABILENE, Texas — A Christian university in Texas says some students no longer attend the school after images were posted online of a white student in blackface exclaiming: “I’m a strong black woman.”

A student wearing an Abilene Christian University shirt and shorts is seen with her face covered in black. She also applies some oversized red lips. Others are heard laughing in the background.

University President Phil Schubert has apologized for the posting and says the school doesn’t tolerate harassment

The university said via Twitter that administrators met Monday with those involved and that they are no longer enrolled. It’s not clear how many students were involved or whether they were expelled or left the school on their own.

Abilene is about 150 miles west of Fort Worth.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that not all lesbians look like that, and men seem less keen on this on every street corner.

Men seem to only appreciate the 'lesbians' that they can fantasize they have a shot with.
Live and let live, but seriously, no one needs to see this!!
