Canadian Economic Forecast Sees Ontario, B.C. Leading The Way Through 2017

OTTAWA — The Conference Board of Canada is predicting Ontario and British Columbia will lead other provinces in terms of economic growth between now and the end of 2017.

A provincial economic outlook released this morning by the Ottawa-based think-tank projects B.C.’s real gross domestic product to register three per cent in 2016 and again next year.

The report forecasts real GDP growth in Ontario to reach 2.8 per cent this year and 2.6 per cent in 2017.

The Conference Board says it doesn’t expect 2016 and 2017 to be as kind to resource-dependent economies such as Saskatchewan and Newfoundland and Labrador, where it predicts real GDP to shrink next year.

Maybe if you ever visit or read about B.C. you might notice our manufacturing base is actually growing unlike Ontario's . Cheap green power and all . You know the kind you used to have .

Nothing hydro-hungry is going to want to pay Ontario extortion. WynneCo has pretty much dragged its feet long enough that Ring of Fire is all but dead for Canada - unless you get a great royalties deal. Leading the way isn't best way of saying it.....

Leading the way to what and where. These economic forcasters cannot see the massive depression unfolding and won't even if the floors fall out from under them they dare not utter the dreadfull word, plummet.

Big f-cking deal.

You are still $20,000 per head behind.

A 10% year would still have you $15,000 behind.

That is how far you are behind and you need to ask yourself WTF can you do to catch up to a still smokin' and growing economy.

Must be something wrong with people who don't dig money out of the ground.

Ontario... an economic leader??.. in corporate welfare perhaps. Buy a $140k tesla made in calif and kate will toss $10k your way, like anyone flush enough to afford $140k for a local runabout will even notice $10k of taxpayer coin.
One would think kate would consult with justin to see which way he is leaning on tpp before donating a few $mil to fiat, she $pends to enrich a major corp but if ottawa goes tpp the auto industry here shrivels plug ins and all.
If canada is looking to ontario to be an economic engine things have to be far worse than ottawa's creative accounts balance sheet indicate.
