Rubbish from another right wing hate site. The bill is an anti-hate bill similar to the anti-hate laws Canada already has. In fact the bill could be used to clamp down on Muslim preachers who advocate violence and terror. Let's face it, the Canadian province that is the least tolerant toward Muslims is hardly likely to enact legislation supporting Sharia Law. It might be useful if the people replying to the post actually checked the source of the story before they posted or perhaps found out what Bill 59 was actually about.

Actually, Bar Sinister is correct. I briefly read what the proposed amendments were and, for the most part, don't have a problem with them. There is nothing that I could see that mentions, specifically, Sharia law other than "honour" is no "justification" for physical, mental or emotional abuse"..


What does concern me, and should most Quebecers is that no where in the proposed legislation is "hate speech" defined. With no definition, the legislation is quite broad. It states that "feelings, emotions, etc.," would be issues that this legislation would address but aren't those rather subjective?

IMO, most of our rights and freedoms do not and will not coexist without a strong emphasis on tolerance. Tolerance is a bitch, if you want the freedom of speech, others that disagree with you should have it, too.
