. . . . fellow travelers because they used the word that way, which evokes many tedious explanations from people like me.
yes of course that made much senseReally??? Somebody check his kool-aid.
" “Something did not come from nothing. The universe still is nothing, it’s just more elegantly ordered nothing.”:
You can have a 'small bang' if a small amount of matter was at the site of the 'implosion' meets 'explosion' as the expanding shock-wave would involve all other matter in this universe given a bit of time.
Yes, but used that way it's stripped of all theological content. Some people think it isn't and it leads deists to claim people like Einstein and Hawking as fellow travelers because they used the word that way, which evokes many tedious explanations from people like me.
No they don't have to prove anything to still use the descriptor "scientist".
.
yes that makes good sense tooWhy would there be a word for an uncondition omnipotence
The androgenous god, all in one and one for all, hahahahah
long words contain more information and infiltrate an advanced audiance. Long is not expensive>Why would it have to be a long word?
Gravity is a theory as well. Has an apple ever fallen upwards, or have we ever needed weighted shoes to remain attached to the earth?? God is a theory with less going for it than gravity.Theory:
synonyms:hypothesis, thesis, conjecture, supposition, speculation, postulation, postulate, proposition, premise, surmise, assumption, presupposition; opinion, view, belief, contention
What Professor Mir has is just another theory!
And you just described yourself to a "T"
Your understanding of scientific theory is wrong.I understand the word theory in several senses, like this:
1. Weak sense: a belief or speculation, as in that list of synonyms
2. Strong sense: a coherent body of observations. ideas, information, and analyses that describe and explain a range of phenomena.
In the strong sense there are also two kinds, scientific and non scientific.
Scientific ones are empirical, falsifiable, predictive, and testable, like gravity and evolution.
Non scientific ones can be empirical too, but they won't be falsifiable, predictive, or testable. I think psychoanalysis goes here.
And finally there are non scientific, non empirical theories, which won't be falsifiable, predictive, or testable either. I think religious dogma goes here.
God is also a theory. Unfortunately there is more evidence and proof towards any other theory except God.
The religious books spend little if any time trying to "prove" anything.Exactly and the proof we have in inconclusive at best. Sadly, religious people think their books have the definitive answer and any doubt or lack of proof is disconcerting to them.
Imagine if the universe was created not by an omnipotent being but just some scientists in a lab in another dimension.
Sad day for the subjects of "god" if so.
No it isn't, your understanding of what I posted is wrong.Your understanding of scientific theory is wrong.
