Anyone with half a brain can see Anna is not the problem!

Hold your ground Anna.................there's a common denominator in all this sh*t that should be identified!

Well that's easily said for you when your not the one getting spammed with reports after reports after reports after reports.

When all she needs to do is stop reading, posting, and participating.

She participated in the name calling, meanwhile reporting us every time.

<shrugs> You do not have to. I am out.
You can stick up for the lamebrain wannabes that do VERY little except post off-topic crap and insults all you want. It just makes you no better than they are.
There are other forums around with mods that have more of a sense of integrity and respect than you.

Good for you, Anna, high time someone told him! :)

Why don't you all start your own threads if you want to talk about oil, the war in Iran or just flame each other?
You could start a thread called 'miscellaneous' or 'playground'. Doesn't a thread titled about a serious issue kind of indicate serious discourse?

You should consider yourself lucky to be a descendant of people who could have been offed as soon as they set foot on shore. Some indigenous peoples actually welcomed Europeans.
You are not in the habit of thinking too deeply, are you? (it is a rhetorical question and does not need reply)

Canada is inhabited by Canadians, regardless of culture.

lmao "We"? hahahahaha

You seem to forget a lot of things. Have you ever heard of Viet Nam? There was war there for a while. A few different countries went there to try and control things and failed in spite of having vastly superior technology.
Scoot your immature little butt over here with your tank and rocket launcher and Uzi against me. I will draw you out into the bush and make you squeal "uncle" with a stick.

Most of you have good points and are correct for the most part.
I do not think reservations were a good idea. What happened in the USA also happened here and Europeans sometimes moved natives off good productive land to land that was not only foreign to them as far as knowing what to grow for food and the like, but land that was not as good for growing or locating food sources.
In spite of Angies overconfident and ignorant rants, it was disease that decimated indigenous peoples, not wars.
And to that last point, it's why I've been saying for years, it wouldn't have mattered who arrived here in 1492, whether it was Europeans, Africans, Asians or anyone else from the "Old World", the result would have been the same. Although no question that far too many Native North Americans were simply murdered, that's also where US history gets mixed up with ours.
The "slaughtering" of Native people never really happened in Canada to the extent it did in the US. We didn't join the Americans in trying to kill off the buffalo. Quite the opposite in fact. Families that settled the prairies prized the buffalo because their "leavings" made for some fantastic fertilizer.
The Wyandot people were absolutely vital in the transportation aspect of the fur trade. They were masters of the waterways in the eastern part of the country.
Of course some of the problems also stemmed from the fact that various bands had allied with either the British or the French when the two were still at war with each other. This made some bands the enemy of the British and others the enemy of the French.
That's also why some people today are a little more concerned about immigrants and refugees potentially bringing their sh*t here and getting us caught up in it. After all, that's exactly what happened to many Natives in Canada with the British and French.

Not a one. Does it seem natural that someone named Anna has bigger ones?

Ha! You might be on to something, And the reason why she is so mixed up in her head.

Well, maybe the natives need to be compensated from England and France then. That has nothing to do with Canada.

That's only further proves Canadians are so kind, Other nations and ethnics will take advantage of us, by guilt tripping us for things we didn't even do in order to get money out of us.

It's odd that Anna would stomp away in a snit considering she said not even a week ago that she didn't care about stuff and this place was just fun....oh well...

You must love it when people try to involve you in their personal battles as a means to enact revenge out of anger.
Must be the cherry on your Sunday. 😂

In her defence, it must be frustrating having everything you ever believe, so easily disproved piece by piece from a fundamental level. It's not easy accepting that your stupid. It will take her a few days to digest I think.

She reminds me of that women in the video we were watching the other day.

You neither prove nor disprove anything, on a fundamental or any other level. You are predominantly a trouble maker. Do not, for even one second, think that just because AnnaG may have gotten carried away in this instance, that you are not recognized for exactly what you are.

Isolated reserve under boil-water advisory to get all-weather road

Chinta Puxley, The Canadian Press

WINNIPEG - Canada's new indigenous affairs minister says an isolated reserve under one of the country's longest boil-water advisories will get a much-needed lifeline to the rest of the country.
Carolyn Bennett says the federal government is committed to seeing an all-weather road built to connect the Shoal Lake 40 First Nation to the mainland. The reserve on the Manitoba-Ontario boundary was cut off a century ago during construction of an aqueduct which carries fresh water to Winnipeg.
Surveyors said at the time that the land was largely uninhabited "with the exception of a few Indians."

While clean water continues to flow to the Manitoba capital, the reserve of several hundred people has been under a boil-water advisory for 18 years.

I'm sure this is all their fault though. Damned injuns!

It's not like the situation is black or white ether. So let's build these 100 natives a 1 billion dollar aqueduct.
