Umm, what direction, sir?
But the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, which registers asylum seekers and is supposed to be working with Canada on its resettlement program, said Tuesday that it remained largely in the dark about Ottawa's plans.

Competence. #SunnyDays #Flossyways

Canada’s resettlement project will likely involve the chartering of at least 80 jumbo jet flights to make the more than 9,000 kilometre flight from the Middle East to eastern Canada. The fuel costs alone will be about $240,000 for each return journey and as many as six wide-body aircraft may be leased for four or five weeks.

There's lots of idle ships that could be used at reduced cost perhaps and the new citizens may be more comfortable. There would be more room for thier bombs er baggage as well.

First I didn't know whether to be for against this immigration then I realized the
Republican mob running for office especially governors were against it that in
turns means it is safe to be in favor because the Republican conservatives
are against everything.
Think of the facts for a second. the refugees are people who want to have a better
life they want nothing to do with the crazy people running a muck in their country.
Many are not Muslim they are in a foreign land to get away from murder.
Lebanese Catholics, Kurds, small non Muslim Tribes people and above all the
moderate well educated Muslims. Yes there are poor ones too but they don't
want the kind of slaughter to continue.
We are succumbing to hysteria.

With so many experienced experts telling Trudeau that he needs to slow down with his plan to bring in the refugees you would think he would listen and be willing to take some advice.
It says a lot about Trudeau that he is rushing ahead in spite of the opposition to his hasty deadline. Is he a control freak, 'I will do it because I can'? There are only 5 weeks left and no plan in place. It sounds foolhardy to me.

I prefer to evaluate each action or policy on its own and not have my decision made for me by who else is for or against it. But if you prefer to be a sheeple, go for it. Its a free country (so far).

There is no downside for him not continuing. If he fails, he will say he tried but it turns out the experts are right. If he succeeds, he can claim all the credit ... at least until the day one of those unscreened refugees blows something up. I guess in the words of Dirty Harry, he feels lucky.

I kind of see a few ideas in Justin similar to those my mother had. Once you make a promise or a plan to do something, to back off on it is a sign of weakness. Of course a smart person adjusts plans and promises to suit changing conditions, but then a lot of the electorate doesn't see it that way.

There is nothing wrong with saying, 'I have found that I cannot keep the promise I made' accompanied with a brief explanation. I think most people would respect that.
I remember vividly when Jean Chretien 'promised' to 'scrap the GST!' When it didn't happen he denied ever having said that. He denied it even as the media played tapes of him saying it. It just made him look the liar he really was. If he had admitted he made a mistake it would have been forgivable.

Canadians leery of Trudeau refugee plan: Poll

A little more than half of Canadians disapprove of the federal government’s plan to bring in 25,000 Syrian refugees by the end of next month, a new poll suggests.

And if they had to choose, Canadians surveyed by Mainstreet Research for Postmedia appear to be more in favour of bombing terrorists than training other armies how to fight.

“The training mission has wider support. Either way, most Canadians believe Canada should be taking a role in the fight against ISIS. Only 8% of Canadians would support no action at all,” said Quito Maggi, president of Mainstreet.

Conducted Monday, the firm polled a total of 2,718 people. It suggests public opinion is polarized over what to do on the world stage when it comes to bombs and refugees.

“Our earlier polling showed strong support for bringing refugees to Canada, but after the attacks in Paris, security is now a higher concern,” Maggi said.

A majority of those polled, 53%, stated they were unsatisfied with the federal government’s promise to bring 25,000 refugees to Canadian soil by the end of next month while 42% said they were in favour of the plan.

When asked about Canada’s response so far to the Canadian refugee crisis, 46% of people said they were disssatisfied while 42% were supportive of the government’s efforts.

Overall, 60% of people said they approved of Canadian airstrikes on Islamic State targets while only 30% disagreed. The rest were unsure.

As for the training role abroad, support was more widespread, with 70% of Canadians saying they agree with the mission.

But when asked to choose one mission or another, 38% wanted to see the bombs dropped and 28% opted for the training mission. The rest were unsure or wanted something else.

The survey has a stated margin of error of 1.88 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.

That's right, reasonable people at least would accept it!

I for one am all for bombing the bastards, AFTER they are lured out into the desert miles from the normal population. :) :)
