I have never seen you school anyone on any subject let alone politics .

I'm not surprised. You should ask Petros about tax credits or CB about aboriginal water systems...maybe Gerry about dementia or taxslave about homeopathic religions. It's all over the forum. All you have to do is extricate your head from your rectum and look around you. No need to thank me.

Actually Petros makes you look rather silly when you talk about tax credits .

I'm still not going to fill one out. Govt has plenty of info on me already. They know where I live because they send me mail. They know what I make and who I'm married too and how many kids I have from my tax return. They have my health records and employment history and much more info than I am comfortable with.

Last census I had about 5 different people knock my door trying to get me to do it. One even said they would return with the police and have me jailed if I didn't at which time I reminded him he was trespassing and I was within my rights to physucally remove him from my property. Never heard anything after that.
For the bolded part, actually, you wouldn't be within your rights. They were there in an official capacity. Besides, you forget one thing about Canada, you don't own the property you live on, you're merely renting it from a govt that can expropriate it at any time.
Besides, what were you going to tell the cops, some guy is knocking on your door because you refused to fill out the census? You know what the cops would tell you, right?

Well, I can see there's no point in trying to explain anything to you.
You two do realize that you were trying to reason with someone that feels shooting an unarmed By-Law Officer simply doing their job, is perfectly acceptable, right?

It's not really the info on you personally that government's interested in, except for the agencies that deal with your personal taxes and benefits and licences and permits. It wants to know things about your marital status and family size and income level and so on so it can produce aggregate statistics about the population you're part of in the area where you live. That kind of information is essential to policy and program development, and if everybody took your line, government would have no idea about things like the unemployment rate, poverty levels, housing quality, and a thousand other things, and could generate no evidence-based response to them.
Right. Demographics.

He doesn't. He just feigns interest in a topic and adds a post here and there just so he can slip in insults. Historically, folks called people like that popinjays, jackdaws, and hoydens among other things. All foam and no beer, so to speak.

Is the swallow European or African?
Ours come from the woodshed. Canadian, I think. hehe
