'Old stock Canadians' is just a term that makes perfect sense; people jumped on it to criticize Harper as they always do.
It simply refers to Canadians who have been here for a long time and have made the country into the place where everyone now wants to live.
Those 'old stock Canadians' are the ones who did the grunt work, financed the programs to protect and support future generations. New Canadians shouldn't be surprised or insulted if they have to earn their place here just like their predecessors did.
Example: Old stock Canadians have paid into the health care system for years and now newcomers who haven't paid a cent into it are able to access it. It's that way with all of our services and systems. So what have the newcomers to complain about?
The attitude of OSCs?

For example, any of the OSCs who were born after the social welfare systems were put into place are in precisely the same position when they hit 17 or 18: they have contributed nothing to the system, yet they are free to use it. But no-one is using terminology designed to exclude them.

For that matter, in many ways immigrants are a net benefit to Canada. Many of them received their education on somebody else's dime. Then they come to Canada and use those educations to provide goods and services to Old Stock Canadians who sneer at them for "not contributing."

Pretty nasty, really. Especially in a country reputed to be so polite.

Clicking last page in this thread goes back to page 68.

And since clicking the page buttons in the thread don't work (for whatever reason on this garbage forum), I have to click last page from the main site over and over again.

It's really annoying.

I only have 53 pages. What am I missing?

I also don't have a last page button.

Well, it might not have been 68 pages if SOME folks did not post full length articles and other such posts. =)

After clicking 20 times to get back to this page again, this joke of a response from the forum dictator is duly noted.
Tissue?

I do not have a problem with the format. My first page shows the newest posts. If I want to look into the archives I have to scroll back through the pages. And if I post, the previous post is below mine, not above it.

he could solve his own unique problem if he wanted to but what he really wants is to be mad at this 'garbage forum'.

I have 16 posts on the first page of this thread (because the OP is freakin loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong) and this post will make 40 on the latest page for me. So suck it up, buttercup. You at least partially cause your own grief.
