Yes, she is, Machjo. She's especially done a lot for seniors and veterans. I have voted for her since she first ran.

Just blunt. They are dead. The only reason they did as good as they did in 2011 was Jack Layton.

Like I said, the progressives know the strategy to defeat the Conservatives now. When one goes down, you strategically vote for the other because both platforms can look equally appealing.
This will only become a more pronounced problem for them if we move to proportional representation.
And let's not forget that the Liberals had the same amount of seats as the NDP do now and they just won an incredible majority.
There is a newer, younger voter segment that the Conservatives will need to appeal to or they will be toast every election.
Sounds like the kind of candidate I'd vote for. Maybe the Conservatives who keep their seats this election will be the good ones who could then build a solid foundation for next election while showing their ability to work with other parties in the House.
The two were radically different. Harper was tax and spend, Trudeau borrow and spend.
I think they (the Cons) should go back to being small 'C' instead of the regressives they became with Mulroney and amplified through Harpie.

I think this was more of a complete NDP collapse than strategic voting. With the NDP vote gone, their voters would not really be expected to jump Conservative so they went Liberal. Also, what little strategic voting happens usually will be to get a sitting government out rather than preventing one from forming. And who knows what will happen in 4 years. I suspect Canada will have a strong appetite for change by then.

Yeah ... I just heard him praising up his "conservative values" and felt like throwing up. There is nothing of family value or humane compassion in today's "conservative values". That's why I dumped the party in the phoney Mulroney era....

As I've said before, this happened because lever started to lean in favour of one of the progressive parties and that's what people strategically went with to defeat Harper.
And it's Harper's own fault really.
There was no reason he had to be divisive on the niqab or with refugees, for instance.
Canada does not want social conservatism and that's why they will pick one of the other two parties if Conservatives try that tactic again.
