It is wishful thinking that you will make it through each day, get to retire with a good pension and good health. Live is wishful thinking. Sometimes our wishes come true and sometimes they don't.

Let's vote together to end 10 years of Harper rule
Leadnow's Vote Together campaign connects the millions of people who want change on October 19th with the information and tools they need to defeat the Harper Conservatives
Vote Together

AS long as we stay the course it is guaranteed that I will retire with a good pension. Changing to either of the irresponsible leftys would make that more of a remote possibility.
Here is the conundrum for union members: Harper is anti union. OTH he is also good for investment in resources and related projects that create jobs that we require. Other than raising taxes and debt the LIbs are probably a wash in that department. The NDP likes to claim it is pro union and to a limited extent that is true. They do like government unions. However they have come out against every major project in BC that we depend on for work, So having a pro union government does us no good if there are no jobs to employ us.

My main issue with Unions, having belonged to a public sector Union for over 25 years, is that they bull sh*t about being FOR the worker. They are not, they are for the parasites and the sh*t disturbers, people with a good work ethic who concentrate on getting good production don't get any special considerations from the Union. The only measure the Unions savvy is seniority, ability and productivity means very little to them. I would hope private sector Unions are much better.

In heavy construction there is no seniority clause. But yes the main thing is for the union executive to protect their own paycheques.

.... nose-to-nose with the dopers ...

Not surprising, I've had at least one email every day for the past month from the Dippers asking for a donation. I finally got pissed off today and sent the local candidate an email telling her it's the wrong way to win an election. I told her to go find a corporate sponsor and quit panhandling off us little guys. I didn't actually say "panhandling" but gave her the message in nicer language. They also think they are going to give working people a break on child care by getting the likes of us pensioners to pay for it. I know there are single mothers who need help, but somewhere in the back ground there's a Dad who should be getting the bill. N.D.P. has their priorities all wrong, but the other shoe will drop on election day. :) :)

Do you really think it matters who wins this phony race:

In the great scheme of things- NO- For the next 5 years and possibly 25 - Yes. For now (until the experts can finally figure out whether we are experiencing global warming or global cooling) the economy is the #1 thing of concern. A vibrant economy takes care of a lot of social issues. I suppose the race is phony to a degree in that all parties are trying to feed us some bull sh*t. :) :)

Got a survey questionnaire on the phone today. I lied. Political surveys are the best ones to lie in, I think

Yeah, it's an infringement on a person's privacy. I'd probably just tell them to F - off. Don't matter now anyway, Jr. & Mulehair have both blown it the past few days.

You finally got one right, I have a great face for radio.

I'm off to vote at the local Elections Canada location.
I was the only one at the vote while I was there. I don't think too many know you can vote any day between now and Oct. 19 at yer local returning orifice.

Well, wouldn't you wait until the last day in case you change you mind about who to vote for?
