TaThere is a segment of our population which simply cannot tolerate a happy ending for anyone who isn't white and Christian, so it was expected that there would be backlash against 14-year old Ahmed Mohamed. First, we had CJ Pearson, 13-year old already-bitter-but-enterprising kid who has been indoctrinated by conservative nonsense complaining, and now we have Megyn Kelly trotting out Mark Fuhrman to tell us all why the kid's invention shouldn't be believed to be a simple clock.
According to Fuhrman, Ahmed isn't an eager-beaver A student, but instead a passive-aggressive terrorist waiting to pounce, and police didn't overreact at all. Not one bit.

I am sticking to my original opinion. I don't see anything wrong with their reactions to his device.
And Obama is become less credible with every passing day. While Sara Palin is kind of a kook, she brought up some valid points in her speech today (or was it yesterday) about Obama.
Who in my eyes is nothing but a traitor, one who caused his fellow Marines to die while they were out looking for him.

Do I think they should have arrested and handcuffed him? Probably not, that was excessive. But honestly, the first teacher that viewed the apparatus should have brought it in to the office where the student could have picked it up at the end of the day. And that should have been the end of it.

It has absolutely nothing to do with his culture, religion or background. ANY kid bringing something like that to school would have it view the same way.
It is insane that anyone would be making this about race, they are so damed eager to make everything about race they forgot it's also about a kid who made a poor decision in how he went about something.
Exactly. It's not like attacks at schools (by students of any race/creed) don't happen far too often, right? The first teacher, rather than telling him to keep it "hidden away", should have been up front and told the other teachers and principal what it really was. Then leave it in said principal's office until the end of the school day.

What poor decision? The poor decision was hiring an engineering teacher who can't tell a clock from a bomb. To say nothing of the cops. If I lived out there, I don't think I'd sleep all that well knowing I was being protected and served by cops who can't tell a digital clock from a bomb.
Yup, yup. Because never in the history of US public schools has anyone White been suspended/arrested for what was absolutely nothing. No little kid was ever suspended for biting his Poptart into the shape of a gun. No kid was ever suspended for wearing an NRA T-shirt. No kid was ever suspended and arrested for telling a short story about killing a dinosaur with a gun. But God forbid when it happens to a visibly minority, suddenly the brain-dead brigade starts yapping off about racism.

Oh please, feel free to ignore the parts where I said the teacher was remiss, that the cops handcuffing and arresting were extreme.
And yes, I think anyone who thinks bringing a mess of wires and circuit boards in a briefcase that beeps, has an alarm of some kind or shows any kind of time display at all, needs to give their head a shake. I can buy the kid being naive because of his age, but no adult anywhere in his life thought maybe that might not be a good idea?
