Quite frankly, if you don't want to issue a marriage license or serve alcohol, find another career path and stop wasting the courts time.

It beats me why what is basically nothing more than personal opinion is so highly protected in the Charter.
Greenie for that. Same thing with U.S. law. Discrimination is forbidden on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, and in some cases age. Of that list, only religion is voluntary and easily changeable (well, age is easily changeable. All you gotta do is wait).

Never did understand why your boss could fire you for your political views, but not for which fairy tale/revenge fantasy you believe in. That's why I want My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic recognized as a religion.

Someone who is suspended for not doing what they are paid to do should not be making news headlines!

I'd have the same 9 words as I would have said to that court clerk. "You want to honour your religion, fine. You're fired." Plenty of other people around that will do the job they're hired to do.

I think both should be fired. If you accept a job for what it is, you do what you took on and get paid for.
Also, I think the moslem headgear is an insult to womanhood because it is a sign of submission and no airline should have to cope with someone out to make a political statement by her appearance. Western women fought hard for equality and quality of life. These religious mavericks are just too happy with the infidel dough they bring home.
The suspension was justified. The flight attendant knew that serving alcohol was part of her job description when she accepted the job. She should go work at a coffee shop or McDonalds or any other job that does not conflict with her religious beliefs and avoid problems like these.

WAGNER:-
I agree. They knew the job going in, so they adhere to their religion and quit or junk the religion and keep the job. Pharmacists know the job entails filling doctors prescriptions, so refusing to fill those scripts calling for birth control or alcohol based products or anything else that contravenes their idea of their religious texts, they need to find an occupation that sycronises their beliefs with the salary for doing the job they are paid for. There is no excuse for training for a job you know is prohibited by your religion. It is a form of trying to exercise control over others. Rather nasty in my opinion.
