Should Canadian energy independence fast tracking be an election issue?

Why or why not?

Which party is best suited for the job?

Who is dragging their asses?

Sure has been... Guess that even the politicos understand that it only is possible to bang the green-drum when there's lots of money flowing.

Not so popular to hit folks with green taxes when they are hurtin

To date only the conservatives have pushed for energy projects that create jobs and help the economy while all the rest have promised spending on expensive feelgood projects like cheap babysitting.

The builders of those old walls are a complete mystery, it is hypothosized that they tried to ride out the last Pole shift without reducing their carbon footprints.

Energy independence is my main reason for living right now, cured firewood is hard to get in Nova Scotia again this year due to climate change plugging the log trails this past winter for the second time in a row.

"Energy Independence" would be clearly against multi national corporate agendas. Count on more price collusion and monopolies if the Cons are voted in again by the zombie horde.

It has? Link to something.

Rachel Notley makes upgrading and refining jobs a top priority for NDP

NDP Leader Rachel Notley announced a plan to deliver better value from Alberta’s resources.

“The PCs have squandered our wealth with a fire sale of our resources,” said Notley. “We’ll stop the fire sale and start rewarding businesses that create upgrading and refining jobs here at home. Our plan will deliver better value to Albertans for the shared resources we all own together.”

Notley announced that an NDP government will establish a new Resource Owners’ Rights Commission. The Commission will recommend a royalty structure that rewards value-added processing as part of an overall review of Alberta’s approach to resource development.

“Jim Prentice is more interested in creating jobs in Texas than here in Alberta,” said Notley. “As Premier, I will work with our partners in industry to add value and create more jobs here in Alberta. With the right priorities, an NDP government will promote upgrading and refining right here, starting now. That’s what Alberta’s families and communities need.”

The Resource Owners’ Rights Commission will make recommendations within six months of the election and an NDP government will act on those recommendations as part of our plan to build a stronger and more prosperous Alberta.

Getting close to her deadline. Any draft legislation out yet? Or just more hot air.

Should Canadian energy independence fast tracking be an election issue?

Yes

Why or why not?

Because it would create more jobs.

Which party is best suited for the job?

So far only the Alberta NDP have tackled the subject.

Who is dragging their asses?

The Corporates but in all fairness to them, this would be a major project that requires a lot of planning.

Executives from some of Canada’s largest oil companies say Alberta Premier Rachel Notley is doing a better job engaging with the energy industry ahead of her NDP government’s royalty review than the previous review conducted under the Progressive Conservatives.

“The door, actually, compared with the last time we looked at a royalty review, seems to be much further open,” Husky Energy Inc. chief operating officer Rob Peabody said at an RBC Capital Markets conference Monday.

Oil execs say Notley more ‘collaborative’ than Conservative government in tackling royalties

Right...answer the question.

Energy independence should be an issue, but as stated earlier, nobody will touch energy with a ten foot poll *snicker* this election, big vote loser no matter what is said.

Obviously the NDP would work the most diligently to develop long term jobs and projects for Canadians. Far from the "rip it, ship it and leave a mess for future generations" policies of the Cons.

Libs are dragging their asses and kissing whatever *** presents itself in a desperate bid for....anything,
