The US got the bomb first.

But that wouldn't have been dropped had America not been in the war. Had America not been in WWII it may well have been the British who dropped the bomb on Japan or elsewhere and it may well have been the British who go the bomb first. We were doing research into such weapons before the Yanks.

Anyhow... How did the Brits kick the Nazi's out of Norway.
The British provided more assistance to the Norwegians than anyone else in the liberation of their country, from sending troops there, for training Norwegian exiles in Britain and for housing the Norwegian government.

And then there was Operation Doomsday.

And for all this, the grateful Norwegians give us a Christmas tree which is erected every year in Trafalgar Square. America gets nothing, because they didn't help Norway at all.

(by the way... I went to that Yahoo page. Where does it say that commenter was Norwegian?)
What does his nationality matter?

Proof?

Op Doomsday happened after the German surrender.

You've been proven wrong again.

The Soviets deserve the most credit.

What does his nationality matter?

It mattered so much to you that you called him Norwegian with no basis of proof and were called on it.

I think that's the clincher there. Norway sends the UK a Christmas tree. The Netherlands send Canada tulips. What does the US get? Does France send them baguettes? The US clearly contributed little to the war effort because they don't get an annual token of appreciation.

Hasn't google teached brittain yet? The revisionist history bl passes off is astounding. It would seem the US wouldn't even have made it into WW2 if the briddish hadn't sold them lazer guided rifles and provided suprsonic transport to get them across the puddle.

They did contribute to expanding the gene pool across Europe. At least the family tree got a few twigs.

Incorrectly revised history is rampant in Britian as it is a necessary soother stuffed into every British mouth to give them something to suck on while they wilt into their fast approaching past tense. The City isn't even British and hasn't been for three centuries. They are no longer worth any quality argument.

All British subjects, except Canadians, should be confined to the joke threads as a matter of forum policy. I see no benifit by having to endure the hypeing of past imagined or real accolades of long dead British accomplishments in the plunder of the known world.

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we would all have a Merry Christmas.

Anyways, "Why Americans should give thanks for the British Empire"?
Because the B.E. made life there miserable and the most sensible people left to become Americans. I thought that was obvious.
