Just heard on C.B.C. radio that the electorate may not be quite as enamoured with Deborah Drever as some are, or quite as forgiving as Rachel Notley.
Whenever you have huge party turnovers, you always get a few iffy people in the backbenches. And the sad pathetic losers of that election make a big stink about some mildly objectionable nonsense those nobodies made years ago. Good for you guys. You've figured out the internet. We won't have to mine your corpses for fossil fuels after all. So far as I know, Alberta has no laws for recalling MLAs. They should. And if the Drever's constituents feel a little voters' remorse, they should be able to recall her.

I think Notley did the right thing, put her on hold for a year and give her a chance to get back in the good with the offended parties. I'm in agreement that if she really understands the errors of her ways, she should have a chance. Whether the electorate buys that is another thing. Meanwhile she'll sit as an independent.

All aspiring politicians should know that you do and say anything but two things. You can lie. You can cheat. You can make racist comments. You can smoke weed. You can even go around smoking crack with gangsters. You can make fun of rape. You can make preposterous claims about crosses being burned on lawns in Prince George as we speak.

When someone like that insults me, I take it as a compliment. It's like when you get a thumbs down from Walter. You know you've done something right. I'm not at all interested in the moral estimation of someone who thinks flipping off the Canadian flag is a moral offense. Someone like that doesn't need to be taken seriously.
