First you have to catch a Halifax in the sights. Good luck. They boogie. It's why they run flank on battle groups.
No need to wish it luck. It'll be your Halifax-class ship that'll need luck. A Type 45's SAMPSON radar can detect all types of targets out to a distance of 250 miles and is capable of tracking hundreds of targets at any one time. Sea Viper uses this information to assess and command target priorities, and calculate the optimum launch time for its Aster missiles.
A Halifax class frigate is no match for a Type 45.
"and ladys and gents. If you look out of your left side you will see an extremely rare creature to be found in British water's. It is known as an aircraft carrier. Our native carriers are extinct laz, London
Left-wingers are UKIP fans though? lol.
and they have 10 of these, with new ones coming. Each one has the firepower to flatten the entire armed forces of any western country. This is why we need to be the USA's best buddies forever. All the other stuff is irrelevant.~ jimmypatterson, Thame
And the ICWS on the Halifax can handle anything you chuck.
When they're not being repaired, modernised, put at reduced readiness or taken out of service altogether, as over half of all Canadian ships are. That is why they run flank on carrier battle groups.
Repaired? Really? Name one.
Blackleaf, you continue to embarrass yourself, get a life.

I'll say again: the United States' population is five times than of the UK. The US is a much larger country. When the new Queen Elizabeth-class carriers are built it will mean that, including HMS Ocean, the UK will have more carriers per head of population than the US.
The bigger badder GE turbines and goodies from Raytheon are only cementing our position on the flanks of battle groups. The Navy’s 12 frigates are being upgraded as part of the Halifax-class modernization program. Involving $5 billion worth of work, the project will see engineering, radar and weapon systems upgrades, as well as other improvements made to the vessels, Santarpia said
And you have double what Canada does but no ships capable of running flank on battle groups.
BTW are you using Canadian iron like your entire fleet of past clunkers?
Our useless new carriers have no planes to fly off them, plus no Destroyers to defend them at Sea, due to silly Camerons defence cuts.~ robin, Leeds
Have you any evidence of that?
Did we ever use Canadian iron? Plus, if we don't have iron ore under the ground thenw e have to export it from elsewhere.
At least we build our own ships, not buy second-hand ones from a foreign country.
Boy o boy did you ever.
