Probably just the Queen, and Kate when she pops over to visit

Are you really going to dictate to your QUEEN - your Head of State - what she can and cannot wear?

She'll just laugh at you and then dissolve her whole Canadian government.

Little Englanders?..

I'm a Little Englander, am I?

So that means I oppose Britain's military adventures abroad and I oppose the expansion of the British Empire.

Funnily enough, the Little Englander movement originally started in the 19th Century as an anti-Canadain movement, by Manchester manufacturers who objected to the protectionist stance of Canada exemplified by the tariff increase of 1859. They resented paying taxes to defend a colony that took few British goods, when it could be absorbed by the United States which was an independent country and their best customer outside Europe.

He's Welsh. If you like, you could call Daffyd a Little Welsher.

No, it means you have visions of an England that never was, and feel that you can get it "back" if only you brutalise enough people.

No. It means I oppose Britain's military adventures abroad and I oppose the expansion of the British Empire. That's what a Little Englander is.

To be fair to the Brits, nobody over there takes her seriously in that capacity either.

Most of us do. We love the Queen. Have you seen what her popularity ratings are?

Again, I'd love to see the Canadians try to introduce a law which dictates what the Queen can and cannot wear in Canada. Because, of course, laws can only come into effect in Canada with the assent of the Queen herself.

That's the very definition of "lost the plot."

I loved studying birds as a kid. Got to learn a lot of their different sounds. And it's rather smugly comforting when you're out in nature and you know what it is you're hearing without having to actually see them. Like one time late one February, when I'd noticed the earliest robin ever... by its sound; 2 days later came the visual confirmation that I hadn't been 'hearing things'.
It's an ongoing education, the more you're out in nature, the more you're learning about it, that is, if you have ears to hear and eyes to see, as some people seem quite oblivious to it.

A Eurasian eagle-owl, Gloucestershire. It is Britain's biggest species of owl and the second-biggest in the world.

Nothing beats the glorious British birdsong on a glorious spring or summer's morning.
