Hey...I just used their list....I did the analysis myself, as I am capable of independent thought.

says the guy, YOU, of a brazillion gun advocacy/activism talking points. Ya, ya... you're a freakin' independent!!!

As for insult...REALLY?? After the last few posts you have made?

LOL!!!!!

Do you need your diapers changed?

during the start of this discussion you flew out of the gates with your insult-fest... repeatedly, multiple posts packed with insult... I even specifically quoted your insult act! As I said, I respond to the crap thrown at me... and I typically give better than I receive. So don't attempt to go all saintly here, hey Colpy! Unless you'd like me to re-post those groupings of your insults I purposely isolated on and quoted back to you... you call, your choice.

What this entire thread has shown me beyond any doubt is that you are completely incapable of debate, of interpreting data, of accepting your own mistakes, or of anything like reading comprehension.

pffft! Your self-serving interpretation of your delusions of grandeur!!!

I admittedly know nothing about climate science.

But I know now, neither do you.

bring it on... anytime you'd like to again showcase your know-nothingness about GW/AGW/CC. The last I recall, as is your way, you blundered into a thread with such gusto/bravado and, of course, your insult grab-bag, and proceeded to challenge surface temperature data. It was a gem, a real showcase of a blowhard denier knowing nothing about anything... yet fueled on by reading denier blogs. I note you haven't returned since you took your azz-whoopin'! Are you still recovering?

I did NOT reject the OECD as a representative comparison avenue.

But OBVIOUSLY if you use the OECD, you have to use it ALL. You can't eliminate all that that does not support your theses.

thesis??? Huh! The caveats were given on why Mexico was excluded, both in the article and DIRECTLY ON THE GRAPH you've completely melted down over. This was simply your way to ignore all the other countries being compared and the results you clearly have extreme difficulty with. So you distract, you derail and you blather/bluster over a single country not appearing on the graph... even though caveats were given for its exclusion.

Not at the first, but shortly after. I am sorry, it is counter-productive.

Recently I've even been deleting your insults from my replies......

Oh, and it doesn't matter if it is debate or mud-slinging....you are incapable of laying a hand on me.

Give it up Sonny, you have already lost this one soooooo badly.

FYI...they're called facts.....

no - your bizzaro world/gunNuttery talking points are not facts. Your blathering bluster routine is not factual. Your fake outrage is not factual. Your big-time reading comprehensive difficulty is not factual. Your unsubstantiated self-serving proclamations are not facts. Your blundering wannabe U.S. hypocrisy in the face of your self-acknowledged personal support for licensing/background checks is not factual. Your unwillingness to address legitimate influences, other than "GOOD GUYS WITH GUNS", in helping to reduce the gun related murder rate is not factual. Your ongoing repeated pompous claims of victory are not facts. Your ignorant "WIGGLE-ROOM" claims of what is legitimate data is not factual. Your claimed facts are NOT FACTS... they're simply you being your blowhard-self!

Oh, and it doesn't matter if it is debate or mud-slinging....you are incapable of laying a hand on me.

again... your big-time delusions of grandeur!

He won't, because he's too damn stupid to see it.

other than drive-by insult, you've added diddly to this thread... but then again, that's all ya got - evah!

Ever try thinking for yourself, instead of grabbing whatever idiotic wallpaper you can find that was created by someone else?

as I said, sorry to burst your bubble with those graphs showing the HDI, IHDI and non-suicide data (per HDI, IHDI)... firearms deaths per 100,000 versus guns per 100 people. Apparently, you think your handful of examples runs counter to what the graphed data presentation shows. It doesn't... it's simply a most comprehensive and representative accounting of the comparative development data source grouping you yourself brought forward.

Stop it now, you are drooling on your shoes.

Just calm down, take your medication.

As I told you Sonny, you don't know a thing about history, or constitutional rights.

You actually tried to say James Madison was wrong about the right to keep arms in the USA....and he was one of the men that wrote the constitution.

"Americans have the right and advantage of being armed ― unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms." (The Federalist, No. 46 at 243- 244)

That is not a talking point, it is a fact.

The US Code is not a talking point, it is a fact.

"No Free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." (Thomas Jefferson, Proposal to Virginia Constitution, 1 T. Jefferson Papers, 334,[C.J. Boyd, Ed., 1950] )

That is not a talking point, it is a fact.

"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." (Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759.) Speaking on the right to bear arms, btw.

That is not a talking point, it is a fact.

"A free people ought...to be armed...." (George Washington, speech of January 7, 1790 in the Boston Independent Chronicle, January 14, 1790)

That is not a talking point, it is a fact.

Still want to tell me the Second Amendment does not mean "....the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed"?

Argue with the guys that wrote it.

And you wonder why I think you have reading comprehension problems.

Now, here in Canada, the right springs from the English Bill of Rights, which grants the right "....as allowed by law". A whole different ball of wax. A simple concept that you can't seem to grasp.

That would be because you're an idiot. I know, you have somehow become convinced that you have a superior intellect, but this debate has proven one thing beyond all doubt...........you have never had an original thought in your life. If you can't google and reprint, cut and paste, you're lost. You have nothing.

And only homicide/self defense statistics are relevant in the gun debate.

Voluntary self murder is irrelevant. Do not try to restrict everyone's freedom because people want to kill themselves.

Curious: do you believe in the "right to die"?

Accidental death is exceptionally rare, and therefore irrelevant. About 600 a year in the USA......

Carry on blathering.......

Colpy, you are now touching upon the Utilitarian argument that Tecumseh made earlier, wherein this is now about the proportion of gun-related deaths rather than believing guns are intrinsically good for society.

This is probably the only convincing angle that I think people could go for.

Fun fact though, the threat of terrorism is even lower, yet look at how our government is peddling that fear despite the disproportionate statistics on harm.

Good for her. If she would have waited for the cops to finish their coffee and doughnuts to respond the ending would have been much different.

The ending would have been the same if she had used a plastic pistol from the dollar store.

have I touched a nerve Colpy? I get that you turn on a dime..... that your U.S. wannabe self rules over your personal self-declared support for both gun licensing and background checks. I get that your personal declared principles don't mean a damn thing to you when you resort to your "WIGGLE-ROOM" interpretations of the so-called American "right to bear arms"... when you resort to the bizzaro-world conflations you take in declaring what's acceptable data. I get that you posit imaginary scenarios (like "Good Guys", like the presumed impacts of guns on lowering/reducing gun murder/violence rates) to attempt to rationalize your "WIGGLE-ROOM". I get that you can't accept any... ANY... criticism of the AMERICAN GUN CULTURE! I get that you resort to very liberal interpretations of, "a U.S. people's militia... for FREEDOM!!!... ceptin', of course, no guns for women or males over 45-years of age! I get that you absolutely refuse to accept that there are... that there even can be... other influences contributing to the lowering of gun murder rates - you know, like medical advances (straight out of Iraq/Afghanistan wars), like improved emergency/trauma care. Look Colpy, I get all that! Here's the thing Colpy... I could care less what gyrations and gymnastics you go through to attempt to provide cover for the U.S. gun related murder and violence rates. At the end of the day those are the rates... the data is the data... in the face of those guns, in the midst of that American gun culture!

Oh lok the retard with the graphs is back spewing forth on subjects he knows nothing about.

oh look, the same drive-by taxi guy is back... forever showcasing his personal difficulty with graphs! Like I said taxi... you shouldn't be afraid of graphs; they're simply a presentation format.

And only homicide/self defense statistics are relevant in the gun debate.

Voluntary self murder is irrelevant. Do not try to restrict everyone's freedom because people want to kill themselves.

Curious: do you believe in the "right to die"?

ah yes... the ever-ready "suicides don't count" talking point! That's exactly why I made a point of including the following... you know, in relation to the data source grouping THAT YOU SEEM TO PREFER... THAT YOU BROUGHT FORWARD!

...

sans suicide related guns deaths:

Colpy, is there anything sweeter than turning someone's own source reference back on them?

have I touched a nerve Colpy?

Nope. And you never will again.

Let me tell you a story of the time many years ago when I worked flagging on the road for the power company. I was assigned a partner, a little guy. He used to irritate me to no end, OMG the stuff he did, the stuff he came up with.......just clear unadulterated ignorance, interspersed with episodes of bad temper. Oddly enough, he was also way too eager to please. He made me crazy, I lost it with him more than once, there were times, after standing for hours in 30 degree heat, that I entertained the notion of just killing him....

Then one day, when we were working outside of town, we bought a roll of bridge tokens. 20 of them. He asked how long they would last.........trip out in the morning, trip back in the evening. He could not figure it out..........20 divided by two.......

I felt every last iota of anger drain away from me.....I had simply not understood that yes, he really was that stupid. It wasn't his fault.

I never lost my temper with him again......the greatest emotional response he got from me from that point on was rolled eyes.....and after awhile, I figured it out...

Low frustration threshold, intellectually and physically inferior, low IQ, easily influenced.........fetal alcohol syndrome.....a diagnosis I later confirmed with one of his relatives.

Which begs the question: Waldo, what's your excuse?.

 yup, clearly member Colpy has lost it... uhhh, if he ever had it to begin with! There is nothing more telling than to read a blowhard poser continually pumping his own tires, continually needing to claim superiority... to claim victory, continually needing to attempt to marginalize others in the face of his own failed position/statements/"arguments". Well done Colpy, well done, indeed!

Waldo, you do understand that this thread has been your roll of bridge tokens, don't you?

Have a lovely day, Buddy.
