the only creeps are the gun-grabbing leftards that want an intervention meeting with terrorists...but sure, if someone fires at you, by all means, run away.

a lot of the boys huddling around shiny to sniff his aramis and be one with the pony.

"the Government of Canada will not deploy troops in ground combat operations,”

-- Stephen Harper

I support stopping ISIS massacres--barely. I'd rather not get in the middle of a Sunni - Shi'a civil war though.

I hear Allison would still be in power if the jet she took went to Iraq so she could plunk a few Muslim terrorists as the public would have covered all expenses, like the good people of the town that had a Mayor do that very thing. The 'More Bang for your Buck' is a bit crude.

I think it did. Given the political wars and peacekeeping missions of the last few decades and the abstruse and frankly nonsensical rules of engagement and mealy-mouthed political balderdash, a little clarity is welcome.

He never claimed we were going in as peacekeepers though and we have been dropping bombs. That should have made it obvious that this is a shooting war and we are on one side.

Our side is fighting for democracy and human rights.

In theory. We put in place and left what turned out to be a weak corrupt government in Afghansitan. One of the big players fighting ISIS is the Syrian 'government' (Assad). Iran is playing a role in it as well. Those two are hardly bastions of democracy and human rights. Then there is the Iraqi government which is pretty weak at best. Remains to be seen if they have staying power on their own. So sure, in theory we are fighting for democracy and human rights, but in practice what is going to be there when the fighting stops and the west pulls out?

Got my vote.

He could have said anything and he'd have your vote.

Never hurts to state the obvious. Surprising how many people miss it if you don't spell it out.

It is long overdue asking troops to go to these places and observe with one
hand tied behind their back is really making their position worse. Besides
the sooner we put an end to these thugs the better off the world will be in the
long run. Even some of the worst governments in the region realize somethng
has to be done.

Overdue? We werent peaceful observers in Afghanistan. That was fighting for over ten years. The Americans were fighting in Iraq for the same amount of time. Western troops being in a shooting war in that region has been going on constantly since 9/11. ISIS is just the latest band of thugs being dealt with.

Exactly.

Again, exactly.

I had someone tell me the other day that Canada has always been a peacekeeping nation. Apparently they missed both world wars, Korea, the Boer War. and Afghanistan.
