No it is not silly. But you need an open mind and more to see the rock grow.

It bothers atheist so much that others have faith in that there is something more beyond and all they see is blackness and death. An extinguishing of all light. They have no faith and feel so troubled that others do. It hurts them, it makes them mad to see others happy and joyful on a day like today.

That is why atheists attack it every year with their usual zealotry.

Well put.

I'm always amazed that atheists would waste any time expounding their philosophy while (attempting) rebutting someone elses ideals... It's not unlike arguing what should be someone's favorite color

It is sad seeing them with such anger every year. I did not know that having no faith was such a burden to the hard core atheist.

Baloney...I've never had my particular faith questioned by an atheist in a hostile way EVER...it's other theists that have challenged me or called me stupid because I don't view it as they do.

I don't think you have the slightest understanding of what you're talking about, I know no atheist, and have never even heard of one, for whom that remark and the rest of that post is an accurate description. Every atheist I know anything about, including myself, is relatively untroubled by what others believe, people can believe any damnfool thing they like, it's when those ideas enter the public sphere as matters of policy and prescriptions for how we all ought to think and behave that the trouble starts.

Liberation - Really.
One is based upon logic- hard, cold facts. Belief is based upon faith. Seeing the wonder of the world. Knowing that there is more to this life than just passing thru.
With so much unexplained over the centuries, you believe them all to be fables for the weak minded.

So it does not take more than below average intelligence to arrive, using logic that a Creator does not exist.

Wow - Atheists are not only incredible, but you are average of mind as well.

Other way around really. How could an above average intelligence person really believe that there is an omnipotent being that no one has ever seen looking down on us and waving a magic wand to create all the things on earth and demand we bow and pray to him? Simply not logical.

Winter, eh? Just about as reasonable as any debate about religions....

The weather is real strange here the last couple of months, like twenty degree shifts in as many hours over and over, it's realy got my arthritis wound up. Religion is like false teeth, someone elses won't fit, but you stiill got to chew, yer stuck with it, weather you think you are or not.

Nope. To me It is more a matter of not being forced into following someone else's misguided beliefs. And then there is the small matter of so many religious leaders not even coming close to living as they preach.
Bring me your god for a chat and I will believe you.
