‘No pork or alcohol’: Top London hotel being run under Sharia law?

The difference is that such Muslim patrols are much more common than such Jewish patrols. Muslim patrols like that are common.

The problem is that Muslims throughout Britain seem to think they are above the law and can do what they like, which is actually true in many cases. Where Muslims settle they instantly think of themselves as the lawmakers in the area and get away with practises that nobody else would.

That Muslim patrol in North London is a perfect example. They go round telling people they cannot drink in "their" area because it is a "Muslim" area, yet people are perfectly entitled to drink alcohol on the street in England & Wales. It's another example of Muslim law trumping actual law.

Aside from the fact that the Muslims are enforcing Sharia on even non muslims and using violence and intimidation to achieve those end then nothing at all given that Judaism is the original madness and technically Islam is just a more violent offshoot of the same nonsense.

Just like in Israel?

They can sell - or not - whatever they wish, that's their perogative as a business.

If they refuse to adhere to the law though and descriminate based on race, gender, etc, then I hope they are taken to court and dealt with.

Try telling that to those Christian B&B owners who were hounded and bullied by the Left and then sent to court for refusing to allow homosexuals into their privately run B&B.

There is a difference between offering a service based on your religion and choosing who to offer that service to based on your religion. If the hotel in the OP stopped offering rooms to anybody that was non Muslim, you may have a point. As it stands now, you're just be silly.

The hotel will not stop allowing gays to stay there as that violates Britain's equality laws.....for now anyway. However, it is unlikely they would allow a gay wedding to take place as that is a little more murky.

Regardless, the hotel was previously voted London's most trendiest place to stay and now that it is following Sharia Law you can say the trendiness continues as nothing is more trendy in London than Sharia and the burgeoning influence of Islam.

Well you know no Gays are allowed.. maybe a Gay couple will try to stay there and sue..

You could become a martyr for the cause. ;)

Now that you could do and should win. Just because a hotel decides not to serve alcohol is a business decision. It does not discriminate against anyone.

The way I see it the business certainly has a right to not sell alcohol but what bothers me is the factors that lead to the decision rather than the decision itself.

Many Muslim barbers will not serve women, will not serve gays and will not serve Jews because it violates the various interpretations of their faith and western courts and politicians ignore this discrimination. These Muslim barbers are very happy to have a clientele of only Muslim men and are willing to accept less profits in order to gain favour with their Allah.

But implementing these business decisions leads to the ghettoisation of Muslims where they favour Muslim businesses and begin isolating themselves in Muslim communities where the concepts of radical Islam are further reinforced. For example, you'll see more Burkas walking through Clareview in Edmonton than walking through Istanbul.

Any losses the hotel sustains by patrons who do not go there anymore will be over come by the large number of Muslims who will frequent this establishment to support it. I sure hope some lesbian couple tries to hold a well publicised wedding/reception there down the road.

Now that sounds like a few other groups around the vancouver area. Whole areas of the lower mainland don't even have English signs. Kind of like Quebec in a way but somehow our government is OK with that one.

It does say a lot about the decline of Britain when one of London's "top hotels" goes for 350/night. Criminy, 350/night hotels are a dime a dozen in Calgary and they don't pretend to be a world class city. I'm beginning to understand why BL seems to be losing it but I think spending your time trying to build up the UK instead of trying to tear down everything non UK would be a better use of his time

There's no difference whatsoever. That hotel doesn't serve pork and alcohol because it's run by Muslims and that B&B didn't allow gayness within its walls because it's run by Christians. Do you also believe that that Muslim-run hotel will allow gayness to take place within it? Because I certainly don't. Yet, unlike that lovely Christian couple, not one Muzzie will be hauled up in front of a court for not allowing gays into their hotel. It won't happen. It's one rule for Muslims and quite another for everyone else.

Have you done your research on London hotels, have you? Doubt it.

How does the fact that Canada's hotels are criminally expensive compared to those in other countries prove the myth of "Britain's decline?"

Somebody who has done their research is, of course, me.

According to "Travel Alberta" statistics, the average price for a hotel room in Calgary is around $141 (£79.72p).

The price of a hotel stay in London rose by 9 per cent during the first half of this year, to an average price of £127, new research has shown - more than double the average price rise of a hotel across the world. Room rates also rose in Edinburgh - by 7 per cent, to £102 - and in Dublin - by 10 per cent, to £87.

A room in London will set you back £127 a night, on average

This was in contrast to prices dropping in 63 - just over half - of the 115 cities included in the survey by Hotels.com, which compared average prices in the first half of this year to those in the same period in 2013. Globally, hotel prices rose by 4 per cent, however.

London was the 23rd most expensive city overall, overshadowed somewhat by Monte Carlo, where prices leapt by 21 per cent to an average of £223 a night this year.

Also among the most pricey destinations were Muscat, the second-most expensive at £197 a night, followed by Key West in Florida (£192), New York (£171) and Cancun in Mexico (£170).

The Hotels.com survey is released twice a year and compares the prices paid by travellers.

Rooms at The Ritz in London, where Margaret Thatcher died, can cost as much as almost £500 a night

The reason Blackleaf doesn't understand the difference between meat and people is that, in England, there is no difference.

Yawn....the average price is not at issue. The fact that one of London's "top hotel" rooms goes for $350/night is the issue.

Oh....and BTW....when the hotel starts banning gays, then (and only then) will there be no difference. I do understand you're having trouble with the concept so perhaps you can PM me and I can explain it privately. That way you don't have to look so foolish in the public forums. No need to thank me.

The reason Blackleaf doesn't understand the difference between meat and people is that, in England, there is no difference.

Are you Lefties really that naive to believe that a hotel run in accordance with Sharia Law will allow in gays?

I've got enough commonsense to know this hotel run in accordance with Sharia Law will not allow in gays, but that the owners of the hotel will NOT face prosecution when they refuse to allow in gays (because they're Muslims and can therefore do what they like), unlike that Christian B&B couple who were hauled over the coals for not allowing a gay couple into their privately-run B&B, their own home.

Yawn....the average price is not at issue. The fact that one of London's "top hotel" rooms goes for $350/night is the issue.

So what IS the issue then?

Oh....and BTW....when the hotel starts banning gays

Which it will do. It's a Sharia-run hotel.

And when these Muslims DO bar gays from coming into their hotel, not one of them will end up in court, unlike that Christian B&B couple. In fact, my betting is that anyone who complains WHEN that Sharia-run hotel stars barring gays will instantly be hauled into court themselves on charges of racism.

Meanwhile, the brilliant Richard Littlejohn continues his war against the Left:

RICHARD LITTLEJOHN: Welcome to the Hotel Intifada

By Richard Littlejohn for the Daily Mail
18 November 2014
Daily Mail

The exclusive Bermondsey Square Hotel, in South London, has been taken over by a Middle Eastern businessman who intends to run it ‘in accordance with Sharia law’.

Hours after he assumed ownership, guests were shocked to find all alcohol and dishes containing pork were banned, including even beer-battered onion rings and rum-flavoured ice cream.

He is, of course, perfectly entitled to run the hotel in line with his religious beliefs. Britain has a long tradition of temperance hotels and I’m sure the new owner of the Bermondsey Square isn’t trying to offend or provoke anyone.

But imagine what might happen if this catches on and extremist elements decide to follow suit?

Hundreds of young British jihadists have been fighting alongside Isis in Syria and many have already returned home, determined to impose their fanatical brand of Sharia law here. What if they open their own hotel?

Who knows what horrors lie ahead for unsuspecting travellers looking for a place to stay off the Old Kent Road?

With apologies to the Eagles, welcome to the Hotel Intifada...

On a South London ring road,
Diesel fumes in my hair,
Warm smell of samosas,
Rising up through the air.
Up ahead by the Poundshop,
I saw a flickering light,
Completely knackered and I needed a drink.
Thought I’d stop for the night.

As I entered the doorway,
Something’s wrong, I could tell,
The young man at reception said:
‘We’ve been expecting you, infidel.’
Then he pulled out a pistol,
And showed me to my cell.
There were voices down the corridor,
I thought I heard them yell:

Welcome to the Hotel Intifada,
Such a nasty place,
Such a nasty place,
Cover up your face.
Plenty of room at the Hotel Intifada.
Any time of year,
Any time of year,
We can make you disappear.

His mind was definitely twisted,
They called him Jihadi John,
He’s got a lot of pretty stupid boys,
Hell-bent on martyrdom.
Cleaning guns in the courtyard,
Black masks soaked in sweat,
Some full of adventure,
Some filled with regret.

So I called up my captor,
Please bring me my wine.
He said: ‘We don’t have any vino here,
Not even lager and lime.’
And still those voices were calling,
From far away,
Screaming out in the middle of the night,
In a blood-curdling way:

Welcome to the Hotel Intifada,
Such a nasty place,
Such a nasty place,
For the Master Race.
It’s a living hell at the
Hotel Intifada,
Get me out of here,
Get me out of here,
I just want a beer.

Shackles on the ceiling,
Bed sheets full of lice.
And he said: ‘We are all just prisoners here,
On our way to Paradise.’
I just want a Full English, a soft bed for the night.
So put away your steely knife,
I could murder a nice pint.

Last thing I remember,
I was flying through the door.
The place was smashed to kingdom come,
By American shock and awe.
‘Relax,’ said the madman, ‘Don’t look so relieved.
You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave...’

Santa Claus is coming to drown

Christmas is the time for goodwill towards all men — unless you’re a full-time killjoy. The festive season is just another excuse for them to ban stuff.

It was inevitable they would turn their attention to Santa. In Barnsley, a charity worker who dresses up as Father Christmas has been told he can’t sport the long white beard.

Dave Leonard has decked out his minibus taxi to create a mobile grotto. He hopes to raise £2,500 for a local hospice. But he’s been told that Santa’s full beard would breach regulations, since passengers wouldn’t be able to recognise him because it wouldn’t match his official photograph on the dashboard.

Taxi driver David Leonard of Barnsley was told he could not wear his Father Christmas beard behind the wheel by Barnsley Council

How many other licensed minibus drivers dressed as Father Christmas are there whizzing round Barnsley?

Councillor Roy Miller said: ‘Safety of the public is our paramount concern.’ There speaks the authentic voice of someone justifying making other people’s lives miserable. They always hide behind ‘public safety’.

Meanwhile, in Poole, Dorset, the annual Santa Parade has been scrapped on — you guessed — elf’n’safety grounds. Every year, thousands of people turn out to watch Santa arrive at the quayside by boat, before leading a parade to the town shopping centre. But now it’s been called off because of ‘safety concerns’. Are they worried that Santa might drown?

A spokesman said: ‘We’ve become increasingly concerned about the volume of people in such a confined space, especially around moving vehicles.’

Perhaps they think someone will be run over by a sleigh — or a speeding minibus driven by a Father Christmas lookalike.

Bah, humbug!
***************************************

It's a raid, break out the booty armour

Home Office scientists are creating new police body armour to provide extra protection for female police officers who have had breast enhancements (file picture)

Today’s edition of Mind How You Go comes courtesy of the Home Office, which is working on a new design of body armour to accommodate the growing number of police women having boob jobs.

Officers with implants are said to be at particular risk if they are attacked, since their breasts might explode.

At the same time, body armour is going unisex. No longer will there be male and female versions. Instead it will be labelled ‘formed’ and ‘unformed’.

Officials claim this will allow male officers with prominent ‘moobs’ (man boobs) to select ‘formed’ vests, designed predominantly for women, without embarrassment.

Well, that’s their story and they’re sticking to it.

But as one officer of 15 years’ standing said: if male officers are so fat they’ve got large boobs, they shouldn’t be out on the beat in the first place.

This may be only the start. Buttock implants are increasingly popular, too. Sometimes it seems as if half the WPCs on the streets have already had the operation.

If they fall over, or someone kicks them up the backside, the consequences could be catastrophic. How long before the Home Office commissions a new range of ‘booty’ armour?

‘Excuse me, Sarge.’

‘What is it, WPC Kardashian?’

‘Does my bum look big in this?’
*******************************

For whom the road tolls...

Three lanes of the M25 were closed for 23 hours at the weekend because of a one-foot-deep pothole.

Meanwhile, businessman Mike Watts, who opened his own toll road when the council failed to repair the main A431 between Bath and Bristol, has shut up shop.

Miraculously, the authorities have now managed to find the money to fix the main road ahead of schedule.

Maybe we should put Mike in charge of the M25.
******************************

Two out of three experienced motorists would fail the modern driving theory test, according to a new study.

Researchers gave 50 older drivers a copy of the test. Only a third managed to scrape through.

When I cast off my ‘L’ plates, there was no theory test. You just had to make sure you didn’t knock over the bloke with the red flag walking in front of the car.

And never mind the driving test, these days I’m not even certain I could pass the 11-plus again.

Are you BNPers so naive you don't think everybody sees right through your agenda?

I don't know about the BNPers, because I'm not one, but we Ukippers have more commonsense in our little fingers than you Lefty Liberals have in your whole bodies. You're a naive and gullible lot.

If you don't want Britain all-white, all-Germanic, all-CoE, and male-dominated, you're a lefty in Blackleaf's book.
