I love all the morons yapping about how Harper hid in a closet, like he should have run unarmed at the guy.

Unreal is the level of stupidity those people exemplify.

Well he is the leader, he should have led, he should have charged while reciting The Maple Leaf Forever and set an example in this fight against, whatever.

Although I'm sure that will garner you many greenies from those with less than 3 brain cells to rub together, it's actually an absurd notion.

Well considering other MP's actually setup a defense of some sort and attempted to prepare themselves to defend against a guy with guns, Harper hiding in a closet isn't really a reassuring reaction, so I can't understand how 60% of people can approve of how he responded to the situation, when his response was to run and hide in a closet.

That little tid bit made it all the way here in Australian News.

He sure ain't Jean Chretien

Probably would have taken him out with an Inuit Carving or a stapler.

Oh yes, because world leaders are known for taking on gunmen. Old screwball strong arming some unarmed nutter with his bodyguards to back him up, really isn't a good comparison.

Harrison Ford rocked at it in Air Force One, so you know Harper should have just tackled Mustaf what's his fook.

Which is why I also referenced this:
Intruder confronts PM’s wife at official residence | Canadian Prime Ministers

Besides, Harper had plenty of bodyguards.... all the other MP's who grabbed flag poles and other objects to defend against the door, plus the few guards who were there like Alain Gervais.

And this shooter was also considered a nutter.

Either way, running away and hiding in a closet isn't really a good image to portray.

And of course at the time of the guy getting grabbed by the throat by Jean, nobody knew if the guy was armed and nobody knew what his intentions were, but he got into very proximity of Jean Chretien that if he wanted to do something harmful, he could..... and thus, he reacted. Wonder what Harper would have done in the same situation.

Exactly! I mean, granted he's no Indiana Jones but they both got grey hair. So they have something in common.
Ford rocks the hat better.

Good for you.

True, but it was the smart thing to do if you aren't equipped to deal with the situation.

If everyone was Harrison Ford, who would play the Princess?

I'll agree with you there.... he sure plays a good Princess.
Hey prax, I bet your hair looks good in a danish roll.

I know, I konow, you're a superhero too, you would have charged him, and risked your life, f*ck the country and all.

Except maybe Spader, he does good hat too.
Oh and don't forget Keech.

Of course it was.
Shhh, he's supposed to be a superhero.

Carrie Fisher. Duh, everyone knows that.
Harper would have looked cuter I hear.

IF the body guards were on the ball Harper would have been far away by the time the echo from the first shot died down. THe joys of putting your life in the hands of government employees.

Shush you, he should have stripped down to his cape and tights and stopped buck shot with his diamond tough hair.

Right. I won't.

Who's Keech?
Stacey Keech.

He doesn't have a cape. Everyone knows you can't be a superhero without a cape.

Unless you're Spiderman.

Do you think he's Spiderman?
Can't be, Spiderdude's not bullet proof.

I don't know. Not everyone can pull off the pretzel bun hairdo.
Would beat the helmet he's sportin' now.

Even Batman has a panic room...
Did you mean to say powder room?

Nah, panic room, the bat cave. Harper probably actually has a powder room. Come to think of it he likes cats too, and is no stranger to leather... he has more in common with Catwoman.
