i'm surprised no one has mentioned Twisted Sister.. and 'We're Not Going to Take It'. Everybody expected big things from them.. but they lived on in the aferglow of that one hit for decades.

hmm interesting topic. There are probably a few.

Warren Zevon - Werewolves of London
Steve Earle - Copperhead Road

I guess it depends on how you classify hits but Warren Zevon had several singles which I still hear played. None as big as Werewolves but stll 'hits'. Steve Earle also had a couple of other lesser hits.

Even groups like the Knack and Chumbawumba had lesser hits before fading to black.

My favourite one hit wonder is Come On Eileen by Dexy's Midnight Runners.


Shakedown Cruise was a lesser hit by same artist.

Devo, whip it up, If Warren Zevon is still writing, He's doing it from the other side.

Working in a coal mine a lesser hit by Devo.
