The only thing that pisses me off is that this was so obviously a complete set-up. The only point of the entire exercise was to be refused service. It's just a big fat blob of negativity from start to finish and nothing good will come of it because of that.

At the coaching meeting last night for my girl's team, we were told that, if a girl is injured on the soccer field, a male "team official" (e.g. coach/manager) must be accompanied by a female. You should have heard the hue and cry. 20 minutes of scenariois: what if it's my daughter? does the female companion have to have criminal record check? what if the woman is a male-to-female transexdual who self-identifies as a lesbian (OK, I made that one up).

You know what? Who cares? It's a bit retarded but there's a lot of creeps out there. I'll tag one of the mom's before each game. If there's no moms there (very unlikely) and a girl is hurt on the field, I'll deal with it adn pay the piper later.

Hockey's even worse. After one of their "risk management" meetings for the coaches you need a shower.

She is quoted as saying she called the shop last week asking for a men's hair cut but was refused. Now she says she has contacted the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission to complain
That isn't news worthy Jennifer Juniper?

Regina’s Ragged *** Barbers issues apology following human rights complaint

The woman filed a human rights complaint after the barber shop refused to cut her hair in August of last year.

The Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission (SHRC) announced today that the two parties have agreed to a “mutually amenable mediated settlement.”

According to the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission (SHRC), refusing service based on gender is contrary to Section 12 of the Saskatchewan Human Rights Code, which says no person may be denied “the accommodation, service or facilities to which the public is customarily admitted or that are offered to the public.”

“On behalf of Ragged *** Barbers I would like to extend my apologies to Evie Ruddy. She should have not been turned away when she contacted the barbershop to inquire about getting a haircut. Ragged *** Barber will do its best to continue to meet the needs of its customers within the scope we provide.”

Evie Ruddy said there are no more hard feelings after the apology:

The question now is .... will she get her hair cut there? And if so, will the haircut be any good? Nothing in the law says she has to have a good haircut.
