I think old Pierre Trudeau had one thing right during his tenure and that was that Gov't. had no right in the "bedrooms of the nation", but he didn't say to bring the sh*t out on to the street. -:)

Good for him. Man of convictions that just will not toe the PC line. This whole gay pride thing is getting out of hand anyway. City staff should have real jobs to do looking after taxpaters interests.

A man of conviction? You are hilarious. He spoke of deporting gangsters yet he buys and smokes crack with them. Is that one of your convictions?

Its really all about being polite and good manners never hurt anyone.
I remember when at the funeral for Jack Layton the eulogy made the
statement that Jack was committed to a democratic socialist Canada
there was a standing O Even Harper stood and applauded not because
he had to but because he recognized determination he had enough self
confidence to stand and pay tribute
The problem is Ford has no class and it shows

Rob Ford casts lone vote against proposal to help gay homeless youth

Mayor Rob Ford was the only member of council to vote Thursday against a proposal to find ways to better assist homeless young people who are gay. The proposal passed 37-1.
Ford, who has a long history of homophobic remarks and opposition to gay initiatives, placed a temporary “hold” on the proposal Tuesday to prevent it from passing unanimously without a vote. He did not explain his opposition.

The vote came a day after Ford refused to stand during a council ovation for the organizers of the World Pride festival. He said later that he is “not homophobic,” but he would not explain why he did not join in the applause.

“The mayor is homophobic,” said Kristyn Wong-Tam, the only openly lesbian or gay member of council. “He’s consistent. He’s done everything he can to demonstrate this is a community he doesn’t care about . . . I think he’s voting with his values, and his values are he doesn’t support the LGBT community.”

Why do they need their own shelter?
