Yeah but an xacto blade as shown is not the same as an exacto snap off knife.

xacto blades are a must for model builders, where as a axacto knife is just exacto making a box cutter with a legendary name .

I get it kid... see my post above.

Until we hear more I guessing one of two scenarios- 1. He got into some bad street drugs or 2. He was on medication for Bi polar or schitzo and decided to go off his drugs.

First degree murder charges are contemplated. I sure wouldn't down play the seriousness of this tragic event but I am wondering at this early stage how they are able to determine five counts of first degree. Six totally wasted lives!
1st degree would mean he planned it and there is no indication that it was planned. Not that I would advocate open carry at a house party but a knife fighter would have been put down before he got that many victims.

And it's definitely time to start registering knifes and to ban all knives with blades longer than 1".

Yeah, you should pass your idea to Trudeau, he's always looking for a good cause to run on.

Running on this item will get him a lotta votes..eh!!

here's our wish-I-were-a-lawyer bastard:

Matthew de Grood, the suspect in the killings of five people, graduated from the University of Calgary and was admitted to attend law school in the fall. (Facebook)

Reports state he took a weapon to the party and used what was in the house.
People do not realize how much damage a knife wielding freak can cause.

Very sad, especially as he was a young guy who appeared to have it made. You just can never tell!

It's getting very hard to tell just who the hell you CAN trust any more!

You could tell before? What changed? Everybody has tattoos and you can no longer spot a ruffian?

Well I just thought he looked like the last guy in the world who would do such a thing, another guy was Ted Bundy, looked like a choir boy. Just not the image of a "Bill Sikes".

Because it's often the first thing you see when forming an opinion?

If he had tattoos and a muscle shirt you would have expected him to be the one out of the group to wig out and kill?

Is that why businessmen wear suits? To hide their tattoos?

In this case, I understand a decision has been made to have a Crown Prosecutor from Edmonton prosecute this case in order to make sure there is no conflict of interest and to give the impression that juice is being done properly.

The suspects father is a high ranking police officer in the Calgary Police force.

But given that the father is a long time member of the force, I would have thought that the investigating officers in this case would have been brought in from another police agency to ensure there in absolutely no bias in the investigation. They could have brought in the RCMP or an Edmonton police investigating group.

Not sure I like what I see here???

His old man being a cop might be why he did what he did.

"Why" might be a little strong, but yes the connection did strike me and I immediately thought of Terry Driver the Abbotsford killer and rapist whose old man was a senior member of the R.C.M.P. on the Lower Mainland.

See what? The case is only 24 hours old and I'm pretty sure appropriate action will be taken. Actually has to be taken immediately while the crime scene is fresh as far as the initial examination is concerned. For that I think there is a protocol.

I'm not saying impressions are always rationale, Petros, I just think people are lulled into complacence when they don't see something that is "screaming" at them.

What better way to get back at your oldman for being an as-hole than making him look like a sh-t father and cop who can't even keep his own kid in line.
