Big egos lead to big confrontation. At some time, the wise step back.
Stepping back hardly seem like the best way to 'step up to the plate'. Just sayin ...... there are a lot of saying that cover that moral concept and they all only have one way that is considered to be a 'happy ending'. If you think Obama spent 90 minutes talking to Putin then you can accept that the previous 90 hours were spent with his Generals and the last 5 minutes was like the first 5 minutes, 'There is nothing we can do to Russia in the short term or the long term.' Going for bank accounts and other sanctions is covert war it is not backing down and the American dollar isn't too stable at the moment and America is only strong if the whole of the EU is behind her and that isn't the case at the moment.

Geez Goob.... You never told us you'd been kidnapped
That is symptom 27a of said syndrome.

So are you hoping upon hope for total war and global annihilation? Sometimes the best way to step up to any plate is with caution. Obama knows Russia has had some time to stand down and regroup just as much as he knows the US is near exhaustion. Putin is also aware that a boycott of Russian merchandise isn't in Russia's best interests either. Neither of them are religious kooks seeking martyrdom and hereafters.

The west ain't wise though, the west is banks and only their interests are important here. You will note this crisis overshadows the economic crisis and where the Syrian debacle has almost completely been neutralized it is very important that warring be done to shield the western crust from prosecution. If the world would like a bit of peace it must scrape off it's rotten old crust. Sometime the wise don't hesitate. The banker sponsered destabilization is not just in Ukraine there's war being fomented on every continent, they don't care how many people die as long as they secure the top of the pyramid for the new age.

Outside of MHz's wild and insane posts... The Obama Administration has a lot of nerve complaining about Russia invading Ukraine. The US has been invading countries all over for quite some time.

The more a country plays with banks the faster they become poor and weak. This is an economic law verified by thousands of years of history. Banking is the most destructive weapon of war ever created. For a hundred years the banks have ruled the USA and used it like a club to beat the world into submission and ruin. Get rid of them while you still have borders.

This 'invasion' leaves time for relaxing a bit. That it doesn't change in the 30 days until elections and in the 60 days after would tend to show that it is probably the norm.
I have a list, would you like a copy?
Has it ever worked according to the various treaties?

The war machine design is speculation about what kind of drones can you make with a budget that is in the billions. If you don't like it don't play along. What will this go down as, the 6 minute war?
I would supply the population with consoles at home and have them be the pilots once war is officially on. The military would be fetch, repair, redeploy roles, all roles that a defensive military can maintain for extended periods of time. When it is a drone it doesn't matter if they are Kamikaze flights, having 1,000 launch every hour might be an important thing even if the range is only 200km. A mountain pass in Syria would need something like that as it is 'hostile ground', Crimea is home turf so citizen patrols should be enough to keep out instigators when martial law has been declared, as it has been in this instance.

When the military holds 'games' in Nebraska is it really called 'an invasion'?

Ukraine is Europe's biggest crisis of century - Hague

3 March 2014
BBC News

David Cameron and Barack Obama called for a de-escalation of the situation in Ukraine

The turmoil in Ukraine is the "biggest crisis" to face Europe in the 21st Century, British Foreign Secretary William Hague has warned.

He said Russia controlled the Crimea, in violation of Ukraine's sovereignty, and warned of "significant costs" if its troops did not withdraw.

He urged Ukraine and Russia to hold talks and suggested Russia's membership of the G8 could be under threat, Vladimir Putin has said Russia reserves the right to protect its interests.

Ukraine has ordered a full military mobilisation in response to Russia's build-up of forces on the Crimean peninsula, which was part of Russia until 1954.

No 10 has ruled out military intervention, saying the "only avenue that is being pursued is a diplomatic and peaceful one".

Prime Minister David Cameron, who will chair a meeting of the National Security Council on Monday to discuss the UK's response, said the situation was "grave".

Mr Hague, who travelled to Kiev on Sunday to meet the new Ukrainian government, told the BBC that Russia had "legitimate" interests in the region.

But he said its actions were unacceptable and required a "strong" response from the international community.

William Hague (left, with Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk) warns Russia of "consequences and costs" if it does not respect the sovereignty of Ukraine

"It is a very tense and dangerous situation that Russia's intervention has now produced," he told BBC Radio 4's Today, adding that there was now a constant risk of a "flashpoint".

"The world cannot just allow this to happen. The world cannot just say it is OK, in effect, to violate the sovereignty of another nation in this way."

Mr Hague rejected claims the US and EU were powerless to act, saying they had a range of options at their disposal if Russian forces did not return to their naval bases in Crimea and honour the terms of an agreement with Ukraine allowing them to station forces there.

The UK has said Russia will face "significant costs" if it does not pull back, with economic action not being ruled out.

Speaking after meeting Ukraine's interim president and prime minister, Mr Hague said Russia's actions could not be allowed to become the "normal way to behave in international affairs".

The foreign secretary said there was a "serious threat to G8 co-operation in the coming weeks and months".

The UK and other G7 nations have already said they are suspending preparations for this year's G8 summit in Russia, while the US has hinted at stronger measures, such as possible sanctions and asset freezes on Russian business.

The century's only 14 years old. Europe still has lot of time to screw up again ... and again

The two World Wars were caused by Germany. Not Europe.

Blaming a whole continent the size of Canada for the actions of the left-wing socialists known as the Nazi Party is stretching it a little.
