The only thing left to do in this curling match is to drop the brooms and have a t-line brawl.

Memo to Blackie:

Update:

Canadian Men lay an unholy beating on Great Britain in the Gold medal round.

Final Score:

Canada: 8
GB: 3

Great Britain gives up match and concedes victory prior to the end of the match to the superior team... Coach Soren Gran leaves Sochi Olympics humiliated and in shame.

That is all

They opened with a deuce in the first and never looked back. Canada takes the Gold in both Men's and Women's curling for the first time in our history - not bad 'buff boys' not bad.

Not to quibble, Cap............but it was 9 to 3. LOL!

i liked the russian figure skater, thought she could be the winner of gold, but i also thought

the korean could have won, (was expected to win, and everyone thought she would win), both of

the performances were awsome, but i am left wondering just what the judges were thinking, and

why.
russian skater did have one stumble, not a fall, korean skater was
clean all the way through, and they both skated a high quality performance,
worthy of a medal.

korean skater is the defending gold medal winner, although she hasn't skated much this year,

but before she retired she wanted to defend her gold medal winning skate, but i wonder if the judges

punished her for 'not' being part of the skating world this year, and for that reason, did not

award her the gold medal. she could easily have been given the win, and everyone would have thought

that was the right thing to do.

again, we will never know, so i just left it, knowing they both skated awsome, as well as the italian

skater, who won the bronze, and women's figure skating is better now than it has ever been, so good on all of them.

I was left feeling much as you, talloola. Yuna Kim had an all but perfect skate while the Russian stumbled a couple of times. One is only left to wonder what the judges saw that we didn't. A lot of the shine has gone off Olympic figure skating for me.

And in other Olympic news, Marielle Thompson and Kelsey Serwa took Gold and Silver respectively in the Women's Ski Cross event today. Just another day at Sochi for our Canadian Olympians. :canada:

We are off to the Gold Medal game........rock on Team Canada.

Hockey so far 1-0 for Canada 13 minutes to go

Canada moves on to meet the Swedes for gold

I'd have to say that we played pretty darn well in that game, Bart. Real defensive play by our guys and it worked.

I watched the whole game and we did a fine job of keeping the yanks in their own zone and peppering the net. Would have been nice to get the empty netter.........but then........why rub it in.

I realized my mistake, but it was too late to edit.

I do appreciate the correction though.... Blackie is also a stickler for accuracy - I know that he will appreciate the correction

I am shocked......SHOCKED..........that he isn't here congratulating our guys for the Gold Medal win..........NOT! LOL!

The Best team won.

Indeed it did, bill.

Canada now 2nd in medal standings, just dem Norvegians left to beat now!

Quite the leap up the standings in just a couple of days for our Olympians. Can't believe we are actually ahead of the US and now they won't get Gold in hockey.......it is all good.

Seems like Katarina Witt agrees with us about the women's figure skating final, talloola. She too believes that Yuna Kim should have won the Gold.

hockey game was very even for the first half of the first period, then one could see the game
change, and for the rest of the game canada was dominant, score was 1-0, but the game was
far from that. jonathan quick in my opinion is the best goalie in the world, and cary price
if only a half step behind him, and i shouldn't leave out lunquist, as
he is right there with them.
this canadian team is not about any individual, it is a strong group,
a real team effort, everyone has everyone else's back.

they play for gold early sunday morning against sweden.

Indeed it did, bill.

yes, i just watched the interview with her, very interesting, i agree with her, and just as she said,
i don't want to take away from the russian skater, but i think the korean was more polished, did all of
the jumps without 'any' stumbles, and artistically, looked more beautiful as well as athletic, which is what the russian's strength is, but she
isn't quite as artistically polished as the korean, but as she gets
more mature she can develope that artistic beauty, she doesn't have it yet.

Canada is now unquestionably better than the US in every way.
